September 24th, 1934.
A silent puff of smoke slipped from Ruby Mansfield's parted lips as she rested against a heap of pillows. Naked and tangled in her own bedsheets.
Beside her, soft, long blond curls spread out over the pillow that was blessed to be occupied by the most stunning woman Ruby had laid her eyes on in all her 28 years.
Just over a month ago, Ruby had firmly sworn off this very woman – aware that women as pretty as her, who spoke like they came from money and had no business in a place as Lola’s, brought nothing but trouble.
