oh yes.
today was the day.
the day ichigo would finally tie the knot with the woman she knew she loved from the start. the day momoko would be forever be with her beloved, favorite yankī. after nearly 9 years of being together.
a relationship that first started out as a friendship, soon blossomed into something beautiful. a marital status. being able to proudly call themselves wives of each other.
all the guests were already seated, and ichigo stood there at the altar, waiting patiently for her bride to walk down the aisle, already imagining momoko dressed in that white gown, the one with the flowers, frills, and lace that she picked out. the one with tiny symbols related to ichigo sewn onto the dress.
the symbols she embroidered in herself.
the bleached-haired girl stood there in her tux, a rose lapel pinned on the blazer, looking like the jacket that ichigo wore when she first met momoko.
then, the doors opened, revealing momoko. her hair was done neatly in curls, her gown was absolutely gorgeous, as it was co-designed from her herself. of course, there were tiny little biker flags on it, as well as some roses and other flowers that were more emphasized. her makeup made her look ethereal, and the bouquet of flowers she'd been holding made her look like she stepped out of a fairytale.
i mean, it sort of felt like she was in a fairytale. she was getting married to the ichigo shirayuri, mind you.
ichigo faced to look momoko's way, absolutely smitten at the sight. she felt her heart beating wildly, and at some point, she even wished the officiant would tell her that this was all a dream. the piano playing in the background faded into a blur, too focused to listen to momoko to even wonder what song that was.
fortunately, it most definitely wasn't. she was witnessing all of this with her own eyes.
this would be one hell of a memory for everyone else, too. the overall look of the venue of this wedding was very unique. very them. the left side of it was all about gangs, bikers, and rebellion. the right was very much doll-like, rococo, and elegant. it represented the two of them perfectly.
after the officiant addressed the couple, telling the story of how they met, he finally asked:
"do you, momoko ryugasaki, take ichigo shirayuri to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"i do." - the auburn-haired girl nodded, a softness in her eyes as she looked at ichigo.
the officiant asked the other woman the same question. with no hesitation, she said 'yes' too.
at that point, ichigo's eyes began to well up with tears. but, she tried not to bring herself to cry.
finally, it was the declaration of vows. in this, momoko went first, saying:
"my darling sweetheart, from the moment i first saw you, my heart told me, that you were the one. in your eyes, i found my home. and, in your heart, my sanctuary."
"you are my everything, ichigo. my confidant, my best friend, my greatest adventure. i promise to love you with a passion that burns brighter with each waking hour, to hold you close when the world feels cold. i will love you, now, and forever."
the bride's lips quivered when she said that. at those words, ichigo started to tear up, her shaky hands reaching out to hold momoko's.
"i don't even know what half of that meant, but i'm sure that you're gonna love me for life, momoko..."
she sobbed softly. the latter gently reached up to wipe her tears.
"um... after all of this... i'll swear on my life to treat you right. to treat you like how you really deserve to be treated, babe..."
to others, this may have sounded really out of character for ichigo, knowing her rebellious background and tough personality, but this event would be one of the rare cases where she'd let her guard down, and really say what she truly felt inside.
momoko smiled softly, tears already starting to bead up in her eyes as well. this time, she didn't care if her eye makeup would get ruined. it would be worth it for this moment.
after the wedding vows, the officiant then announced the awaited phrase:
"you may now kiss the bride."
instantly, ichigo leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss on momoko's lips. it felt like fireworks were going off in both of their heads, and it was like there was electricity running through their veins.
it was euphoric.
when ichigo pulled away, momoko softly whispered,
"we're married!"
