Summary
Christine Daaé is an up and coming ballerina, spending her days at Palais Garnier. She dreams of being a lead singer but is painfully shy and doesn't quite fit in, her only friend being fellow ballerina Meg Giry. Christine is an outcast for her shyness and perceived strangeness, making her quite lonely.
One day, a voice calls to her from the opera house's chapel, promising to help her with her singing, career and shyness, and she takes the offer, believing him to be the Angel of Music her father promised to send her on his deathbed.
As she trains under him, new owners arrive, alongside the opera's new patron Vicomte Raoul de Changy, Christine's childhood friend who wishes to rekindle their relationship.
It doesn't take long for Christine to find herself torn between the darkness of her angel and the light of her childhood sweetheart, and knows she must choose the path that's right for her.
