Chapter Text
With a huff of his lips, the bubble came to life. Its glossy iridescent circular shape holds inside a reflection of its surroundings. For a moment,it froze and held eye contact with its conjurer. A young man with sunset eyes. Then the bubble spiraled downwards and at the touch of his fingers, it was vanquished as if it did not exist before.
Irrelevant
Like it's conjurer.
He was irrelevant to the port mafia, he belonged to and even more inconsequential to the outside world. Ever since he was 14, his world was the little bedroom Mori gave him.
His world was Mori .
"Atsushi kun. The meeting is over", There was a knock on his door. It was Hirotsu, informing him that Mori was free to meet him. When Atsushi opened the door Hirotsu stepped aside and did not meet his eyes. Most executives were like him. For them Atsushi's existence was strange. They respected him as per orders but always kept their distance. As a child, this distance perplexed him but as a young adult he realised what it was. They were Mori's orders.
Keep away from my doll.
Atsushi lived the better part of his life focusing on keeping Mori happy with him. He was Mori's precious doll only inferior to elise ( who wasn't even a person so that did not count ).
This meant that though Atsushi lived a fairly comfortable life being respected by dangerous men, it was still similar to the orphanage. He just escaped an iron cage for a golden one.
And this one was harder to escape from than the other.
He was being treated as if he was less than human . But it was true. He was less than human but it didn't make the experience any less painful. Sometimes he would reprimand himself for thinking as such. Wasn't being ignored bliss ? He wasn't being hurt like he was at the orphanage. He simply did not exist in their books. And that was fine .
Right?

"Mori san! You wanted to see me?" Atsushi peeked from behind the office door.
He wore a white lacy top that could have passed for a women's blouse. At the door, he lowered his eyes and looked at the floor, a picture of feminine shyness. He then hesitated before looking away all jittery. Then his eyes were back on Mori and with a half lidded gaze, he succeeded in exuding an innocent and naive charm. It was only something someone with years of practice could pull off. Atsushi was just THAT good.
"Atsushi kun! Great timing! Do come in, I had some desserts made just for you~" . The port mafia boss chuckled.
Mori sat on the sofa and on the tea table where a variety of sweets and desserts most probably from high-end bakeries were placed. Elise sat next to Mori and had completely ignored Atsushi.
" Elise chan do greet Atsushi kun !! Look at him, he's still so shy, you should be a bit more welcoming". Mori's eyes crinkled and he gave atsushi a wide toothy grin. Elise chan simply took a big bite of her cake and grumbled. Atsushi sighed and sat down on the opposite seat.
Still, Mori adored elise and also liked atsushi but could never choose between them. Atsushi used to compete with Elise a lot when he first joined the mafia but when he realised that Elise was simply an extension of Mori, he finally realised that he was simply playing into some kinky fantasy. Mori wanted to be dominated by someone and simultaneously be a protector of sorts to Atsushi.
It took Atsushi a while to stick to the naive act but it worked well for him. Since he looked a bit frail(which was a purposeful addition)he invoked in Mori a protective touch. And so he became the doll princess that Mori liked to play with on special occasions. It was hard but it wasn't bad.
"Atsushi kun say ahh~" Mori scooped a bit of ice cream onto a spoon and held it out for atsushi. He looked at him gleefully, like a predator playing with his food. Atsushi gently smiled and opened his mouth. See? He was being fed by THE Port mafia boss.
It wasn't a bad life at all.
"BAM!!"
A window of the port mafia building shattered. A sudden bullet penetrated through the glass and before Elise could even move, pierced through Mori's head. The spoon fell from his hand and clacked with an echo on the cold hard floor. Elise vanished into smoke as the true ability she was, devoid of human sensations. The blood started to gush out of the wound on Mori's forehead. For a moment there was complete silence.
No living could breathe in that room. The one who survived held his breath.
No second bullet came.
Life started to buzz again. Footsteps of Mori's loyal albeit useless men echoed outside. A commotion started.
And thus Atsushi's life as the Port mafia boss's doll came to an unexpected closure.
