Both his father and the viscount had explained it once or twice, about all the complexities of relations in society; friendships, courtships, the appropriate closeness expected of alphas, betas and omegas. Where to step, the distance, the chaperoning necessary to hold onto ones honor, omegas especially.
Any misstep over those rules would ruin marriage prospects and reputation alike. An omega in search of a match would heed the alpha's seemingly kind warning and leave quickly, never to repeat the same mistake again.
Megumi was not that omega.
"Well, if I come across an omega who is in search of a match, I will tell them to refrain from activities such as these," He put Kon on the ground, taking his leash again, "As it stands, there is nobody around that cares for your warnings."
The alpha seemed confused, "Did you not say you were of age? Are you perchance married yet? Or just engaged?"
"I am neither, good sir." Megumi turned around and started walking away, "I am merely a spinster in a walk with his dog."
Or, Megumi has goal for the season; to see his sister married to a respectable lord of good standing. He does not want more. Refuses to want more.
