Work Text:

Chihiro didn’t show his emotions on his face. It was just one of those facts about him that you knew. He wouldn't deny feeling emotion, but his eyes were absolutely not the window to his soul.

You wouldn't find the information you're looking for by looking into his eyes.

Today he was glad for it, because he was terrified out of his mind.

Hakuri and Iori sat glued to him as they covered their eyes watching the horror movie that they put on, the one they wouldn't stop talking about.

“I just don’t think this is necessary.” He told them. staring blankly at the screen. Whatever genre they both liked, this clearly wasn't it because they couldn't go a second without screaming or covering their eyes.

“It is!” Hakuri said, still covering his eyes. “This movie is number one on the charts, everyone's seen it so we have to see it too!”

“He’s right!” Iori said, trembling against Chihiro’s right side, “Even Shiba has seen this, we have no choice!”

Chihiro disagreed. He's not sure why they’re so insistent on watching a horror movie when they’re clearly scared, and he's not sure why they thought he wouldn’t also be scared, realistically there’s no world in which jumpscares aren’t terrifying.

He’s staring at the huge TV they found and propped up, sitting in the middle of his two friends hoping they can’t tell he’s scared out of his mind.

Absolutely nothing crosses his face, and he's certain of it.

This isn’t what he signed up for. Usually when these two approach him it’s about a new restaurant in town or a healthy training session that he has no issue in taking part in. Not the scariest movie he’s ever seen

He thinks one more jumpscare might be his limit.

When had Shiba had time to watch anything remotely related to a plot like this?

He’s so out of it that he doesn’t react to the jumpscare, but Hakuri and Iori scream and clutch onto his arms.

“Is there something watching us?” Hakuri looks around in the room, the dark room he and Iori swore would make the experience more immersive. “I think there’s something watching us!”

“Shut up!” Iori says, burrowing closer to Chihiro, “I’m actually scared now!”

Which is misleading, because she's been scared since they turned on the movie. All three of them have been scared the moment it started.

“I just don’t think this is necessary.” Chihiro says again, completely blank faced.
