   Summary

   While he just wants Superman to stay on his side of the bay, Bruce encounters reporter Clark Kent at a gala, who calls Bruce out on his "Brucie" act. What starts as a tense "what are you hiding?" case turns into a genuine connection, where Bruce is so convinced that Clark Kent and the alien savior of Metropolis could never be the same person, he misses Clark's biggest secret.

   Then disaster strikes. In a Superman fight, the Daily Planet is destroyed, and witnesses say Clark was inside. Clark is dead—Superman's negligence killed him—and it has turned the Bat into a hunter, looking for a way to make the god pay for killing the best man he had ever known.
