Summary
“Yuri knew what to expect with Natsuki around.
She’d sit down beside Yuri, always setting her books down just a bit too harshly. Natsuki would sigh, grumble a bit, and then tell Yuri off for looking at her. It was the same every single day.
Without that reliability, Yuri didn’t know what to do with herself. She caught herself staring blankly at the door, waiting for her to walk in. She didn’t know why. It was ridiculous— juvenile, even. Yuri didn’t care. If Natsuki didn’t show up, that would be perfectly fine.
But even so, why did this feel so uncomfortably personal?”
OR
Yuri isn’t sure why, but there’s a nagging in her brain that won’t stop. Ever since Natsuki was late to a meeting, frazzled and clearly in distress, Yuri found herself spiraling down into a dark chasm. They weren’t close. They had never been close, even after being in the Literature Club together for so long. Oftentimes it felt like there was some sort of core incompatibility between them. But now things were different. Natsuki was suffering, and despite her best efforts to not care about the girl, Yuri couldn’t stand it.
She was going to save her.
