Cliff Marlow—the absolute idiot he was—extended his hand for Shane to shake before Shane could say anything else.
“I am Ben and this is Alex.” Cliff, you absolute idiot. Ilya just smiled because he knew Shane instantly recognized them. He may have imagined it, but Shane did look at him longer than he should have.
“Nice to meet you, Ben and Alex. I’m Shane. We’re just waiting for everyone to be here since we still have fifteen minutes till we start.” It sounded hollow. He had his eyebrow slightly raised which meant he was confused.
