Summary
Despite the atrocities Sukuna had committed, bad people were still worth nothing. Good people were still hypocrites. Life was still unfair to everyone — and the only thing that hadn’t changed throughout all the upheaval was the greed that shone in everyone’s eyes and bled through their every word.
Even if Sukuna hadn’t conquered Japan through violence and subjugated the survivors through terror, even if this wasn’t some ploy for him to pass the time now that he had confirmed his status as the strongest, the world was still devoid of anything worth saving. Megumi is no longer that middle schooler who’d sat atop a pile of bullies and pretended that anyone’s life mattered to him — and yet, through some cosmic joke, the life of everyone in Sukuna’s realm was somehow in his hands.
