He gives him another up-down, “I have no idea what you’re talking about, baby boy.” He flashes a smile at him.
Peter stands up and walks in front of him before he can think it through and the merc is towering over him, even from this distance and his brain short-circuits for a second, again. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in and out. He opens them to those same teasing eyes.
“Look.” Deadpool looks at him with amusement.
He continues, “I’m sorry for not being all the way there recently and that was really shitty to do to my best friend,” he puts his hand up before Wade can start screaming about how he finally said it.
“And, yes, I will do better but first, you have to stop doing that ‘up-down’ thing,” Wade looks at him confused again but Peter keeps talking. It was his turn to ramble.
Or: Peter keeps zoning out when Wade talks for some reason and Wade decides to do something about it.
