Charlie’s going to lose him.
He feels Nick, his perfect Nick, slipping away, out of his reach, and he’s felt it for a while now.
But Charlie’s been trying to hold on; adjusting his grip, the skin of his palms ripping, leaving bloody callouses in their wake. It’s excruciating, sure, but letting go would hurt so much worse.
