A Holy Surprise

Summary:

Michael’s head snapped towards the dark form of their brother, “Hello Azrael. Are we all ready?” Michael asked, rearing to get a move on.

”As ready as I’ll ever be!” Azrael chirped.

”Yes, quite ready. I must say, I am quite curious of this hotel Gabriel spoke of,” Raphael replied in his smooth voice.

”Same as I Raphael. Well, let’s get going,” Michael opened a golden portal into the outside of the hotel and the 3 brothers stepped inside.

Or after the events of season 2 and the Hazbin Hotel is working to redeem sinners, a certain rank of angels come out of a temporary break after the attack on heaven and decide to come visit the Hazbin Hotel to see it’s progress. And maybe after they felt a certain emotion link from Lucifer during season 2 episode 8.

Or or Lucifer and Archangels fanfic of Azrael, Raphael and Michael coming to the Hazbin Hotel.

Notes:

No promises this will ever continue past the 1st chapter, I just have the urge to write an Archangels and Lucifer fanfic with how little there is and had the sudden urge. No promises I will update this regularly if I do continue this.

Credit to Ballad of the Morning Star by Aramintalua for the idea of the emotional link thing!

Chapter Text

Lucifer let out a yawn as he awoke from the gentle embrace of slumber. His red eyes blinked the sleep from them as he took a glance around the dark room, the shapes of many ducks littered in piles everywhere.

He stretched as he stood up, hair over his eyes. His hair was always really long and thick over his eyes before he groomed it up and away from his eyes to be able to see better.

The king did a twirl of his cane and he was suddenly ready for the day before he snapped downstairs to the ‘staff and older guests’ kitchen because of how crowded it had gotten with only one kitchen.

Lucifer stood by the coffee machine as he waited for it to finish. He found it got the body energized way quicker.

His eyes flicked over to movement in the shadows and saw it as the distinct movement of darkness only Alastor could create.

The king of hell was soon proven right as the Radio Demon materialized, “Why hello there sire! Pleasure to see you up so early,” the deer shaped demon purred, radio filter over his voice as usual.

Lucifer rolled his eyes good naturally, he and the Radio Demon were in a secret relationship no one but them knew about, maintaining most of their banter but if you payed close enough attention, one could notice it was much lighter in tone and less biting than before, “Good morning to you to Alastor,” Lucifer replied as he turned to take his coffee.

Alastor stepped forward out of slight curiosity, one of his ears twitching forward slightly. Lucifer always loved Alastor’s ears due to it being the most expressive part of his body, “What? You’ve seen coffee before,” Lucifer teased, tone much lighter due to them being alone.

Alastor’s gaze flashed down to the king’s face, “I was simply seeing what beverage you had decided on today Luci,” Alastor threw in a quick nickname at the end to distract the king from the slightly embarrassing moment.

Lucifer tilted his head away from Alastor, feeling a golden blush tint his cheeks ever so slightly at the nickname that graced his ears, “Yeah, yeah whatever…” Lucifer muttered as he sipped his coffee.

Alastor quickly took a step back as he heard someone approaching the kitchen before he melted back into the shadows just as Charlie and Vaggi came into the kitchen.

”Hi Dad!” Charlie said cheerfully as she bounded over slightly.

”Hey Char-Char,” Lucifer smiled, looking up at his beautiful, wonderful daughter. One of the most amazing things to ever grace his life.

”Can you make some pancakes? I love your pancakes and you haven’t made any in forever. You don’t have to if you don’t want to though,” Charlie asked, her tone upbeat but turning into the tone she had when she got concerned she was being to pushy as she gave Lucifer the biggest puppy eyes he’s ever seen.

”Sure Charlie,” Lucifer’s smile stretched wider as he sipped his coffee as he prepared to start cooking some pancakes for the staff and some of the earliest guests like Angel Dust, Cherri, and more.

Charlie and Vaggi headed out of the kitchen, Charlie talking excitedly about the trust and bonding exercises she was going to do for the guests today. Charlie had quite her work cut out for her with all the new guests.

Alastor appeared again, walking over behind Lucifer to watch him bake with ears pricked in curiosity while keeping alert for anyone maybe coming to the kitchen so he could melt into the shadows again.

Lucifer hummed as he worked, paying no mind to Alastor’s curious hovering. Once Alastor got comfortable with Lucifer, he revealed he was quite curious about practically everything.

Lucifer grabbed the deer meat for Alastor’s special pancake, “Would you like demon meat as well?” Lucifer questioned.

Alastor’s ears perked ever so slightly more, “Why of course Lucifer! Who would I be if I didn’t?” Alastor replied, as he leaned ever so slightly more into Lucifer as he got more comfortable that no one but Charlie, Vaggi and some guests that didn’t have access to this kitchen were up.

Lucifer rolled his eyes and grabbed the demon meat as well “Of course you do,” Lucifer said as he started cooking some of the meat separate from the batter.

After Lucifer had prepared all the pancakes he laid them at the table in the separate table just for staff and earlier guests sense it was to loud in the main dining area.

Alastor instantly took his pancake and started eating as Lucifer sat beside him and ate one for himself as well, liking being able to be close with Al since Vaggi and Charlie were busy socializing with guests.

Alastor let out a content fawn noise as he ate, the only person he felt comfortable to do around was Lucifer.

Lucifer let out a small smile at the noise, knowing he had down his job well.

After both had finished and Lucifer left the dishes in the sink, Lucifer left to go tell Charlie the food was ready.

”Charlie, pancakes are ready!” Lucifer called to his lovely daughter and her girlfriend…Maggie? Vanessa? Vaggi… pretty sure the last one was right…

Charlie sprang up, “Coming Dad!” Charlie eagerly dragged Vaggi along with her to go eat pancakes as Lucifer left for his room having nothing better to do.

——————————————————————————

Alastor stood watching guests mingle in the lobby, some eating in the dining area. He considered briefly going to join Luci in his room but decided against it, didn’t want anyone getting too suspicious of them disappearing at the same time.

Alastor hummed as he watched Charlie gather all the Sinners for the daily trust/bonding exercise for today. He often skipped out on them, finding no use in it. He usually went about his own agenda or went to go spend time with Lucifer.

Alastor was lost in thought when he noticed Charlie looking like she was going to ask him to participate and he quickly melted into the shadows towards Lucifer’s room. He didn’t care if they both disappeared, he wasn’t participating in that exercise.

He made a quick pit stop inside his own room to his lock his door, making it seem he had just gone to his room instead of Lucifer’s.

Alastor saw the king in his pink sweater on his bed half asleep when he materialized back into Lucifer’s room. Alastor often sometimes spent his nights in here instead of his own room so Lucifer paid no mind to Al shedding his coat and shoes before Al hopped onto the bed after making sure the door was locked.

Lucifer turned when Alastor got onto the bed and brought himself closer, stretching his arms out in intention in cuddling while giving Al enough reaction time to move away if he didn’t want to.

Funnily enough, both actually were averse to touch. They trusted the other enough to cuddle and touch each other (not that way you freak this one respects asexuality) and not take it to far since the other understood what it was like.

Alastor hummed and leaned forward into Lucifer’s arms, accepting the idea of cuddling as his ears drooped in relaxation.

——————————————————————————

Charlie smiled as she saw how much people had participated in the trust and bonding exercise! She was still a little upset she missed her chance at asking Alastor to participate for once since he hadn’t even done 1 before, but there was always another time!

”Thank you all for participating! You guys can do whatever y’all want to do, maybe try socializing a bit with new people!” Charlie excitedly said to the group before the group broke away, off to their own agenda or staying to mingle and socialize, Charlie and Vaggi together as always.

As Charlie and Vaggi were sitting together in the lounge, Angel Dust soon plopping down on a couch opposite side of them, a golden light pierced the air and soon a golden paper fell onto the table.

Charlie jumped but recognized the paper as Heaven’s, she grabbed the paper, Angel getting up and walking over to read it, “What’s it say toots?”

Charlie looked down at the letter, reading the cursive formal tone of the writing. So not from Emily. She started reading the letter:

          Dear Charlie,

It has come to my attention that the success of your hotel has been recognized by Heaven and even the seraphim. Thus, I and my 2 brothers would love to come visit your hotel and see the progress you have made towards redeeming more sinners and the process and theory’s you might hold. Questions are fine as long as kept within reason. We will be there within the hour.

  Signed, The Archangels.

(yes Michael wrote that and no he didn’t know her last name).

Charlie finished reading the letter, “Apparently some angels called the Archangels want to come visit the hotel and see its progress on redemption!” Charlie said excitedly with a tone of confusion lacing it, who were the Archangels?

Vaggi’s jaw dropped, “The Archangels?! Oh my god this is great news Charlie!” Vaggi exclaimed, excited for her girlfriend but also having slight concern.

Charlie looked at Vaggi, happiness, excitement, and confusion in her gaze, “Who are the Archangel’s?” Charlie asked, tilting her head like a curious puppy.

Angel Dust was leaning on the back of the couch, “Yeah, I would love to know,” Angel Dust added in.

Vaggi looked between the two, slightly shocked they did not know the Archangels, “The Archangels are super powerful angels even above the Seraphim. They are just below God!” Vaggi quickly explained, hoping she got all the details correct.

Charlie eagerly leapt up, “This is amazing! I can show my hotel off to even higher ranked angels!” Charlie was practically glowing with excitement.

Vaggi smiled slightly, “I don’t know, the Archangels have been out of Heaven business for quite some time. I don’t know if they’ll approve and they have the power to completely stop it…” Vaggi voiced her worry, hoping that did not come to fruition.

Charlie’s bouncing dampened slightly, “I think we’ll be fine Vaggi! We just have to believe it,” Charlie smiled as she looked at her girlfriend.

Vaggi returned the smile, “Yeah, I guess so.”

——————————————————————————-

Michael walked through the grand castle where the archangels lived, his footsteps echoing in the silent room as he made his way up the stairs.

Michael was deep in thought, thinking about that painful day, the day he lost a brother. His mind drifted, the image of his little brother falling, his two halos in his hand, the sense of love his brother sent him through the emotion link that nearly made him break down crying right then and there.

That day would haunt him, the screams of his twin as he ripped their halos off, their screams as he stabbed them with a sword, their soft smile and love as he fell.

The pressure in the room increased heavily and the temperature dropped before Michael snapped out of it, shaking his head and focusing his essence back into the body.

He continued up the stairs from where he had paused in his stewing of his thoughts.

Michael paused again as he heard the sound of flapping wings and turned around, seeing his brother Gabriel flying towards him.

“Hi Michael! I hope I’m not bothering you?” the shorter archangel asked, blond hair falling close to his eyes as he had a soft smile on his face, and light green pupil-less eyes fixed on the older.

”Ah yes, hello Gabriel. I am doing quite well, and no you are not bothering me at this current moment,” Michael replied, posture straightening as he turned to face the younger archangel.

”Lovely! I was just thinking that we hadn’t looked at Hell in a while… really never… so I did look down there and-“ Gabriel paused as Michael seemed like he wanted to interrupt.

”Wait you looked down at there,” Michael quickly spoke right as Gabriel had cut himself off before Michael could.

”Well yes, I got curious dear brother,” Gabriel replied, keeping tone light and taking a slight step back. He never liked conflict.

Michael paced slightly, the memories drifting back up to him at the mention of that shit hole.

Gabriel waited slightly before continuing, “Anyways, I looked down there and apparently there is a hotel for redeeming Sinners down there, and not only that, they actually managed to redeem one!” Gabriel quickly got his words out before Michael could interrupt again.

Michael paced a bit more before pausing, “A hotel? To redeem Sinners?” Michael’s blue eyes drifted back to Gabriel at the news.

”Yes! A hotel to redeem Sinners! It is quite big already and they redeemed one already! A snake Sinner named Sir Pentious,” Gabriel smiled, glad they were finding ways to redeem people.

Michael paced again, “I- I don’t know. What if they just redeem their sins to sin again up in Heaven? What if they don’t actually want to be redeemed for good?” Michael voiced, concern for the people growing.

Gabriel’s smile dimmed slightly but he pushed further, “Well, if that were to happen they would just fall again. It will be fine, do we really want to take away the chance for people to redeem for their misdoings if they truly regret it?” Gabriel responded, taking some steps towards his brother.

Michael paused, silent for a few moments, “I guess but, I don’t know. Harm can still be done to the Winners and Heaven-Born,” Michael’s pacing continued as his wings flapped slightly in worry.

Gabriel grabbed Michael’s arm, “Calm yourself brother, it is fine. I see this as a great opportunity. No harm will come to the Winners and Heaven-Born, we can have Uriel check the redeemed Sinners intentions alright?” Gabriel suggested.

Michael paused when Gabriel grabbed his arm, gaze flickering to the shorter, “Yeah… I guess. I would still like to visit this place to see what they’re doing though,” Michael replied, calming slightly.

Gabriel smiled, “That can be done brother. I believe I am too busy to come on this adventure. Who shall I relay the message of coming with you?” Gabriel asked.

Michael thought for a moment, “Tell everyone, but I will take Raphael and Azrael. Az is good at fighting and Raphael is good at keeping his cool. They shouldn’t be to busy as there are others that help with their job,” Michael replied. Zadkiel is big on mercy and righteousness, and Sinners very much are not that, so best not take him and Uriel might attack someone the first second in there with all the lies and deception. “Tell Uriel he is to come as soon as I message him through emotional link though,” Michael added, it would be best to have Uriel on standby if he needs to interview someone where he needed zero lies.

Gabriel nodded, “Alright, I will go to everyone and relay your message!” Gabriel fly off, using the emotional link to prob the others to respond via emotional link so Gabriel had their exact location.

Michael watched as Gabriel flew off to find the others wherever they may be. He continued up the steps again, heading for his office to write a message to the owner of this hotel of their visit.

He walked down the hall, wings ruffling as he thought of the problems that might occur with redeeming Sinners, concerned for the people.

He entered his office, the dim lighting encasing the space as he shut the door behind him and sat down at his desk, chair creaking as he wrote the message.

He used his ability to see down there to find the owner of the hotel to address by name and to send the message to.

With the message sent, Michael stood up, walking out back downstairs.

——————————————————————————-

Azrael hummed as he flew around Hell, the Archangels didn’t often leave the palace and had been out of Heaven affairs for quite some time.

He felt the curious prob of Gabriel’s energy in his mind, and he responded back in turn, Gabriel falling silent so he guessed it was just Gabriel wanting to know his location. Probably a message.

He looked for a nice spot to land, flapping his wings as he landed on top of a tall building he randomly found.

He waited for Gabriel to catch up to him as he gazed down at Heaven, watching the Winners and Heaven-Born mingle down below, the wind rustling his hair and feathers.

His skull shaped pupils drifted along Heaven. It had changed quite a bit from the last time he went for a fly around Heaven.

He was distracted from his thoughts at the sound of wings, lifting his gaze from below he looked towards the source, spotting Gabriel flying towards him.

He shifted the body to face Gabriel, a slight smile gracing his face as the younger landed.

”Greetings Azrael, I come bearing a message from Michael,” Gabriel was quick to explain his presence, his posture straightening.

”Hello Gabby! What is said message?” Azrael tilted his head, a teasing hint to his voice.

Gabriel cleared his throat, “Michael said you and Raphael will be accompanying him on a visit down to Hell to see the Hazbin Hotel which is a hotel down in Hell redeeming Sinners. They already have redeemed one, a Sinner now Winner named Sir Pentious.” Gabriel explained, making sure his details were all there and correct.

Azrael paused, not expecting that, “Oh! Well, I certainly didn’t expect him to look down there…” Azrael said, Hell had been a sore subject for all of them due to their brothers fall…

”He didn’t, I did. I got curious since we had never looked down there due to it being a… painful subject, but I got curious and noticed the Hazbin Hotel! It looks quite amazing and has a fantastic idea for redeeming Sinners for their sins!” Gabriel smiled, wings flapping in his excitement.

Azrael was silent for a moment before he also smiled in return, “I agree! A lot regret their life choices before going to Hell, I just hope we don’t let everyone redeem themselves. Like people who murdered for fun…” Azrael voiced his concerns subtly.

Gabriel tilted his head slightly “I think if anyone truly regrets their choices, we should give everyone a chance. But I didn’t come to talk about who deserves a chance, I got to get this message to Raphael and then tell everyone else you’ll be leaving,” Gabriel responded, “Bye brother!” the younger than took off, going to find Raphael.

Azrael watched him go, slightly worried about the Winners and Heaven-Born but shaking his head, and taking off to continue his flight around Heaven.

——————————————————————————-

Raphael watched the flow of the water as it drifted down the lake on its endless cycle. He quite liked sitting by lakes where it was nice and quiet and he couldn’t be bothered.

He felt the curious emotion wash over him and felt Gabriel’s energy. It always felt odd whenever he felt his brother’s emotions due to himself not feeling such feelings.

He returned his brother’s emotion with his emotionlessness and he felt Gabriel’s energy leave. Must be a message than, Gabriel often did that to find their location whenever he had a message to deliver.

He continued watching the lake, his two halos glowing above his head.

He noticed some fish swimming in the lake, he watched them mingle together, swimming lazily as the current of the river moved them downstream.

He lifted his gaze when he heard the sound of wings and saw Gabriel landing next to him, “Hello Gabby,” Raphael greeted.

”Hello brother, how are you doing? Hope I am not bothering,” Gabriel greeted in turn, looking down at his sitting brother.

”I am doing quite fine and no you are not bothering me in the slightest Gabby. What message do you have?” Raphael questioned, standing up and looking down at the shorter.

”You know me so well. Yes, I come with a message from Michael. You and Azrael are going with him down to Hell to visit the Hazbin Hotel, which is a hotel redeeming Sinners. They have already redeemed one former Sinner now Winner named Sir Pentious,” Gabriel explained in a professional tone.

Raphael hummed at the information, “Very well then. I am a bit skeptical so I would like to see this with my own eyes. Good thing I’m coming with,” Raphael’s wings ruffled slightly as he prepared for flight.

Gabriel smiled, “I will get out of your hair now, bye Raphael!” Gabriel than flapped his wings and soared into the sky.

”Goodbye Gabby,” Raphael called before also taking off after identifying Michael’s location via emotional link.

——————————————————————————-

Michael paced in the golden colored castle, wings rustling and flapping with his trouble thoughts as he waited for Azrael and Raphael to hurry up and get here already.

The sound of flapping echoed loudly in the silent hall accompanied with footsteps joining Michael’s pacing one’s.

Michael looked up from the floor he had been fixed onto to see Raphael approaching him. He straightened his posture and paused his pacing.

”Hello Michael, are we just waiting on Azrael then?” Raphael smiled, a formal tint to his tone.

”Yes, that is quite right dear brother,” Michael responded in kind with a smile, wings flapping along with his words.

”Very well then, how have you been doing these days?” Raphael tilted his head, faking cheerfulness to calm his brother who was obviously still tense.

”I have been doing quite well Raphael, I trust you have been the same?” Michael felt himself calm slightly as he fixed his attention on the conversation.

“Indeed! Thank you for your concern Michael. Say, do you know what Azrael was doing that is taking him so long?” Raphael’s head turned to look at the window.

”No, I do not. Only Gabriel would know that considering he’s the last to have seen him,” Michael answered, head also turning to look at the wide, open window.

They both fell into comfortable silence.

”Hiii Mikey! Hi Ralphly!” Azrael’s voice broke the silence like a water bottle falling over during a test.(yes I know Michael would never think this but I DONT CARE NO ONE CAN STOP MEEEEEE)
