Chapter Text
”Ze, look at this weird thing I found!!”
Ze jolts away from the window, his vision snapping back into focus. He doesn’t remember why he was looking out the window, but it doesn’t really matter. Nothing interesting out there anyways except the looming storm approaching. He can already hear rain dropping onto the grass outside.
He makes his way downstairs, his cursor landing on Regect. He’s holding what appears to be a red button attached to nothing, almost like a clicky fidget toy he’s seen online. He always wanted one of those. “What’s that?” He asks.
“Button. I found it in a tree.”
”… Why were you in a tree?”
”Irrelevant.”
Ze sighs. “You better not press it.”
”Why not??” Regect’s voice turns whiny, like a petulant child.
“You don’t even know what it does!”
”Psh… What if we get, like, 100 bucks though?”
“What if we blow up Wakafante’s house, huh?”
”I’ll just build another one!”
“God-give it here.” Ze reaches for the button, and of course Regect yanks it away. “Regect, give it!”
”No!” It holds the device over its head. “Come get it if you want it so bad!”
“I’m literally taller than you, stupid!” Ze reaches up to yank it away, but with the effort of leaning forward, he sends them both - and the button - toppling to the ground. He lands on top of Regect, and the button bounces a bit before settling.
Ze doesn’t have time to sign in relief before Regect’s snarky ass presses it.
———
His head hurts. It’s done that a lot lately, but this is a different kind of pain. He feels it in the tips of his fingers and the bottoms of his feet. Did he fall asleep or faint? He’s sitting up on something squirming angrily. When he opens his eyes, the light hurts quite a bit, but he can get his surroundings.
… This isn’t his desk, or his room, or his house. It’s Wakafante’s house, though the blockiness is gone. It looks just like any other house you’d find in the real world, but the layout is unmistakably Wakafante’s first floor. It’s as if his very game has come to life. He looks at his arms.
”This is my body?? Did that button suck me into the game?”
“Get off, you fat chud!”
”Oh right, I forgot about Regect.” Ze looks down at the entity.
Along with the rest of the house, it seems Regect has also been given details beyond the usual blocks. Ze had imagined him like the headless horseman with more missing limbs, but it’s almost the opposite. He’s actually pretty humanoid. His skin was a deep rich brow, his hair untamed and tightly curled - definitely not 4c, but nearly there. He didn’t seem to be wearing a shirt, and there’s a strange dark mark (a tattoo?) spreading from his left pec to his shoulder in tentacle-like strands, as well as coming up from his hips, though Ze’s body’s covering that part. He had a vertical labret on his lower lip, and his one visible eye glares up at Ze.
“Dude??” it grumbles, its voice much clearer her than through the screen. “Did you hear me?? You’re heavy!”
Oh.
Oh. He’s hot.
