    Jason Todd knows better than to trust people.

    She’s forever working, always tired, and has an uncanny talent for pretending everything is fine when it never is. Between double shifts, mounting debt, and a father one bad day away from disaster, she has enough problems without getting tangled up with Jason.

    For a while, it’s easy.

    The diner. Coffee. Friendship. A place to go when Gotham feels determined to chew him up and spit him back out.

    Until Jason starts investigating a case that keeps circling back to the same conclusion. And the more he learns, the less certain he is that he knows Maeve at all.
