The deity saw the fire the mortals used to help keep warm. He thought that maybe he could use it for harm. He got another Linked Sword and took fire from the mortals' homes. This will be perfect!
The fire made the sword hot to the touch, ensuring the wielder needed to take precautions when using it.
He tested the blade's capabilities on the same rig, and it was turned into ashes.
Well, this will certainly go to a select few..
