CRACK!
Teto almost immediately sat up, tail standing on its end, awoken by the sound of thunder. As if her having trouble trying to sleep with insomnia isn't enough, the sudden lightning and rain came up like it was there just so the redhead wouldn't be able to get her sleep.
Teto reluctantly laid back on her bed to try and sleep despite knowing it's impossible at this point, for what felt like hours of tossing and turning, the occasional crash from the thunder ruining her sleep, she finally had enough and decided to simply get up from her bed, letting out a frustrated sigh as her tail seems completely dead.
Walking towards the door, she silently opened it so it wouldn't wake her roommates and best friends: Miku and Neru (not like she has the energy to open a door loud enough to do that) as she made her way to the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it with water to drink it.
Afterwards she walked towards the couch in their living room, plopping herself down, staring at the ceiling paying no mind to the crackles of thunder outside. I mean, what else can you do when you want to sleep, but you can't?
Time passes, the chimera still looking at the ceiling with absolutely no emotion at all.
More time passes..
And then even more time passes.
And then...
Teto lets out a low groan as she takes a pillow from the couch and presses it against her face out of frustration. She just wants to sleep but she really can't. Her insomnia is an absolute bitch to her. She really, REALLY just wanted to sleep comfortably.
...
Would... Someone's presence help? She thought. She didn't want to bother the other two, especially Miku with her packed schedule, so Neru was the only option but she also really doesn't want to bother her as well, another reason is because.... uhmm... nevermind.
But... She really wanted to try it, mainly because she just really REALLY wants to sleep, she's tired of all of this.... Although...
"Ah fuck it. It's worth a try, atleast..." Teto muttered, walking to Neru's room and stopping by her door. Expectedly, her heart started beating faster as her tail wags somewhat hesitantly because after all, she's about to ask her longtime crush. A very faint blush appeared on her cheeks, as she started to knock on her door.
A few seconds later, "Who's... There..?" Neru asked groggily after waking up, "I- It's me, Teto. I- I'm really sorry for w- waking you up this late..." Teto replied.
"...Alright.." Neru says. "Come in first, atleast."
After Neru said that, Teto slowly went into Neru's room. Everything was tidy, the walls were of the same colour as Neru's hair and her bed was covered in a large yellow duvet, with of course, a pretty sleepy Neru, wearing her night gown and her golden hair sprayed across the pillow on the bed.
"So... What is it.. exactly..?" Teto felt a lump in her throat. She shouldn't have done this. Goodness, what an idiot she was. Now her best friend (and crush) is going to look at her weird, tell her leave her alone and kick her out. Or something even worse? Who knows, but the chimera really fucked up.
"S- sorry.. it's... I'm having trouble sleeping with... The thunder and my insomnia and a- all... So uhm... Could I s- sleep in your r- room f- for.... Tonight...?" Teto asked with her tail tucked in.
Neru, now is significantly less sleepier than before, looked at her. "Is that it?" Yep, it's definitely gonna happen. Wow Teto, you really done goofed. You just had to mess it up didn't you. What a failure you are. All you had to do was not do it and look what happened. You really are an-
"Yeah I... Don't mind." Neru says, as Teto drops her mouth in utter surprise, eyes widened, tail going up a little. That... What? She's actually letting the chimera...
"...what's wrong, Teto?" Those words said by Neru shook her to reality as her tail started wagging a bit. "I- I actually d- didn't think y- y- you'd agree...." Teto replies.
Neru just smiles, a rare occurrence. "Of course I'd agree, because it's you, Teto." Neru lightly says. Teto's faint blush turning redder as it spreads across her face. It wasn't too red but it was noticeable. "T- thank you.."
"I'll... Go get my futon now then.." Teto says, about to walk out of Neru's room to get something until... "You can just sleep beside me y'know, there's still some room for space."
...
...WHAT. HUH. WHAT. SHE'S SAYING... WHAT????
Teto's tail stands on its end, her face reddening from that sentence as she turns to look at Neru. "I- I- Uh- Uhm-" Teto tries to speak but is too flustered to make a coherent sentence.
Neru looks at Teto confused, taking a second to realize what she said resulting in a noticeable blush on her face "Oh.. Sorry, I kind of just woke up. I'm... Not thinking straight..."
An awkward silence falls between them.
"T- the offer is still there if you want to." Neru says. "I- are y- you s- sure you're o-okay with t-this...?" Teto, still flustered from the previous statement, tail wagging slightly over the offer.
"Why would I be saying it, then?" Neru replied. Teto's heart beating way faster. Tail wagging faster as well.
...Wait. It's not like they're gonna snuggle with eachother right? So like... It's just going to be awkward sleeping side to side with eachother....
....fuck it, "I'll... Accept it." Teto says. Neru nods and scoots over to make some space for Teto to lay down in.
Teto slowly approaches the bed, and carefully lays down besides Neru. Teto tries her best NOT to become a blushing mess. But now, both of them are looking at the ceiling. There hasn't been any thunder for a while, just the comfortable soothing rain as she relaxed with the presence of another.
After a bit, Neru looks at Teto, which Teto stared back. "Are you comfortable? At least... I hope so.." Neru asked. "Y-yeah, thanks, a LOT actually.. haha.." Teto lets out a chuckle. Which Neru then smiled. "That's great."
Looking at eachother face-to-face, it's hard for Teto not to blush in the close proximity as she stares at the absolute beauty beside her. Neru notices the newly appeared blush on the chimera, which she then chuckled. Only making Teto's blush redder as she looks away.
"Well, I suppose this is a good time to confess." Neru says, Teto looks back at Neru with an inquisitive look. "Confess.. what exactly?" "Well..." Neru turns to Teto, her body now facing Teto's side on the bed. "That I love you, silly. What other things could I even confess, hm?"
Teto's mind went blank. It took her a second to realize everything. And all her attempts NOT to become a blushing mess was... Very, very unsuccessful. Neru giggled at the sight, making the chimera's blushes even more redder as a result, and tail wagging furiously.
This night really turned a 180. At first she was absolutely frustrated with everything basically making her life hell not letting her sleep, and then now her longtime crush is confessing to her? While they're both in the same bed??
"I might have been too forward tonight though... Sorry about that." Neru apologizes, with a shy smile. Teto turned to Neru, their bodies now facing each other. "I- I- It's o- okay! I r- really don't m- mind..." Teto continues, "I've, uhm.. I- I love you t- too.... For a l- long while now a-actually..."
After a slight pause, Neru lets out a content sigh, reaching out her arms to embrace Teto in a hug, which Teto slightly flinches as the result. "I'm glad you feel the same way." Neru says, as Teto manages to wrap around her claws around Neru's torso, nuzzling her head against Neru's neck letting out a content purr, not realizing her tail has comfortably wrapped around Neru's leg.
They both fall asleep with the comfort of each other's presence and embrace, as they snuggle together in the same bed.
Miku wakes up, gets ready for today as always but notices that... Both her best friends were nowhere to be seen. "Teto? Neru? Are you guys still sleeping?" Miku yelled, but no response came. I guess they're both sleeping still.
...It's not bad to double check, right?
She walks up to Neru's door, slowly opening it. Seeing the two cuddling with eachother, still asleep. "Cute." Miku commented.
