Luffy watched you and Usopp crash on the ship, laughing and banged up. While on an island to restock supplies and explore, everyone had split up into pairs, with you and Usopp going off to find ingredients for his more ammo, but there ended up being a misunderstanding, and the villagers had chased them off the island with pitchforks and torches. Not everyone liked Pirates, who knew?
Everyone had gotten split up, and you and Usopp had been cornered, but instead of cowering behind you like he usually did, he jumped in front of you and blew up the base of a large tree, allowing for the two of you to escape. Your hysterical laughter had followed the both of you all the way back to the Thousand Sunny.
Usopp was regaling the crew with his tales of heroism, which were admittedly a bit exaggerated, but for the most part true. He had saved the two of you from having to dive off a cliff to avoid harming the villagers. The crew shook their heads, amused at what they thought was another one of Usopp's many stories, when you piped up. "No, really guys, Usopp did save us both from having to cliff jump." You smiled when his chest puffed up with pride. You could practically see him glowing from the validation.
Luffy huffed and crossed his arms. Why were you defending Usopp? You were supposed to be paying attention to him and hear about how he had sling-shot himself and Chopper over the forest and crash landed into an enormous kitchen. He ate his weight in food before grabbing what he knew was your favorite snack, carefully saving it in his pocket.
Now he was pouting as he waited for her to finally turn to look at him. Usopp was continuing his story, which at this point had turned more fictional than truth, but Luffy always paid attention to his friend's stories. Luffy felt bad, but he was a pirate, and pirates were possessive, and he considered you his treasure. So for now he would sit quietly, but he would definitely be bugging the hell out of her later, draping himself over her and hogging her attention.
His smile returned when she looked at him, finally moving away from the crew, who were gathered around Usopp, listening to his boasting. She was approaching him now, and Luffy couldn't help but meet her half way. "Hey! Finally, you're looking at me! I got your favorite snack!" She laughed as he wrapped himself around her, and she listened to him as he finally told her all about his and Chopper's adventure/escape. She kissed his cheek when he passed her the small bundle containing her treat. "Thank you, Luffy."
He beamed proudly, but huffed. "Next time, pay attention to me! Or else, I'll eat your snack instead of saving it for you. I was starting to get hungry again." A familiar pout formed on his face, but you kissed it away, which seemed to satisfy him.
He didn't let go of you for the next few hours, but that was fine, you were used to dragging him around. You watched the crew passively while enjoying your treat. You could feel Luffy staring at your food, and rolled your eyes before offering him a bite. He smiled and was careful only to take a bite instead of inhaling it. "Thank you, treasure."
"You're welcome, My Captain."
