It’s a cruel, cruel thing Wifies does in the cabin by the snow. Sharp spikes of pain lancing through his arm as a splash potion cuts through him. Blindness, Slowness 2, Weakness 2. “That’ll keep you obedient,” his dead best friend says. From within the depths of his drugged, grieving, mess of a mind, Parrot thinks that he failed Wifies. “There, there,” Wifies says, patting him. “No need to cry, Parrot. I’m sure you’ll like it in Paragon.” Little warm trickles down his cheeks, freezing as soon as they meet the cold air.
Wifies guides him through the snow, the cold, ever his best friend. So protective, so gentle. Just like he used to be, before he died. There’s not much around him except the rushing winds and the flecks of snow and the blindfold wrapped around his eyes. And a burning fire by his hand - warm, living, alive. Wifies, alive again.
And then an eternity later, they’re at the obsidian walls of a prison called Paragon, and Wifies leads him tenderly up and up and up to an obsidian prison and asks him, Can you take all of the items out of your inventory for me, Parrot? Parrot listens because it’s his best friend and he wouldn’t do it for anyone else in the world. Wifies doesn’t bother to do a cake-check on him. Leads him on a clacking too-loud flying machine across a too-hot pit of lava onto the platform. “See you, Parrot,” Wifies says, with the grating voice of the Director.
“Don’t leave me, Wifies,” Parrot begs. “Don’t leave me and die again.” A bit like Wifies, begging him to Think about yourself! and Be selfish! Stop rushing into danger! And then Wifies is gone on the too-loud machine. Alone in a prison constructed by the Director, Parrot understands that he has killed Wifies for the second time.
Wifies - so briefly reincarnated, and then gone.
