Chapter Text
Okay, quick summary before you see what's going wrong with me:
Who am I?
My name is Evie Vedas, daughter of Kerion Vedas, element of Light (yes the Zeus ripoff), and a mortal (I cannot be bothered to remember her name). I am the element of Sight. A "fun" fact about me is that I prefer not to interact with my countless siblings.
What are the elements & their hierarchy?
Basically, the element faction is composed of multiple people who wield different "elements". These can range from the usual Air and Water to Reptiles, for example. I'm in the middle with Sight.
Also another fun fact before I get into a history rant: there are 3 types of elements - elementborns, humanborns and first-gens. Elementborns are those born to elements as elements, humanborns are born to mortals as mortals (or in the rare-ish cases of elements sleeping around with mortals - born as an element and the mortal parent is left to figure it out). First-gens are basically born from the nothingness (not Void. Those are two different things.) and can't have origins traced back to either elements, immortals or mortals. There aren't immortals that have been turned into elements, but I'd guess they'd be called something like race-borns. Idk. Anyways we continue!
Said faction has an interesting history. It was started when the six Old Concepts were created by the (legendary but real) Spectators, who are to this day objects of devotion. These six Old Concepts are separated in three duos: Void & Energy, Time & Space and Sun & Moon (or Death & Life depending on what universe we're looking at. More info about the universe thing is in the TCA explanation bc I'm not explaining it twice).
Anyways, some of these Old Concepts (namely Void, Space and the duo that depends on the specific universe) had children. Two of them are Void's oldest children, twins - Darkness, also known as Beatrice, and Light, also known as Kerion. They, along with some first-gen elements (Air and Fire) and the first humanborn elements (Earth and Water), became the Elders when the elements as a faction started to grow.
Just for the record I'll say that people can both get and lose their element powers at any point of their life. Being an element more or less includes slowed aging. It also includes nerfs based on your powers. Mine for example is that I cannot stand being in the light for too long because of sensitive sight (yes, yes, it's very ironic. I'm intolerant to my father's element. we get it.).
What is the TCA?
The Time Control Agency, or TCA for short, is, as the label says, an agency that controls the flow of time and the multiverse. It keeps its existence strictly hidden. The HQ exist in the Mid-realm, a sort of place (place is a strong word here) around the different universes, gathering its workers from just about all universes it has access to. It registers different universes with their serial numbers. Mine is 704409, I believe. The Agency is separated in a few departments: Tech, Information, Costumes, Medical, Waste and Root Management.
The TCA is headed by three figures called Roots inside of the RMD and the Timekeepers outside of it. Their genuine names aren't known, they're each referred to as "the Timekeeper" when separate, unless they reveal their name. As "Roots", they are ordered as follows:
- Root 1 - the first element of Time-Travel and child of the Old Concept of Time. Rarely messes with the TCA itself (relatable).
- Root 2 - second element of Time-Travel, "temporary" host for the powers until a truly fitting individual is found at all. While they exist, they're painfully set on being a pain in the ass to everyone that has to tolerate them. They deal with most universes.
- Root 3 - third and last element of Time-Travel, ex-element of Science. She's kinda new, though speaking of things as new and old when referring to an agency that observes and controls time is quite foolish. She's not that familiar with being a Timekeeper, surprisingly enough.
Some extra questions because the author will let me:
- "Is the TCA based on the TBD from the Cookie Run games?" Yes, very.
- "What AU is this in?" I'm guessing if you're going to ask that then you're a part of the original group and should know which one I'm from by the fact that I'm missing. Anyways, if you don't (because I'm aware that not everyone is in that particular server), it's the "Lost AU", as you call it. At least that's my origin. This story will most likely take place in the Mid-realm, which Zenia should have explained by now, plus that I explained it above.
And that's about it. I hope this made sense because I won't explain again. If you have any questions that, even after rereading, weren't answered, ask them and I'll convince the author to allow me to answer if they're under this chapter. The answers themselves will be with the prefix "👁️:". I hope you find this tale entertaining to read, because it's not entertaining to live or narrate.
