Work Text:

A wave of red light signalled the use of the teleportation circle in the corner of Alver’s room. It was only supposed to be used during an emergency, but Cale ended up using it whenever he wanted to visit Alver.

“Hyung.”

Cale only called Alver hyung when he needed something.

Alver paused what he was saying in the virtual meeting and looked up immediately, about to ask what Cale needed, when…

The words died in his throat.

Cale stood in front of the desk, back facing Alver. Cale gestured at his back.

In a grumbling voice, he asked, “Can you help me take this off? I want to take a shower.”

It was a loose black silk button-down top, except all of the golden buttons were on the back rather than the front. Cale managed to undo all the top and bottom buttons except the middle one, which he couldn’t reach.

So there was a wide expanse of skin. Skin Alver hadn’t seen before.

Pale shoulders, sharp shoulder blades, a slender, curved waist that could fit in his hands… the top of Cale’s hips, with dimples next to the bottom of his spine - Alver didn’t even know dimples could form there. Was it because Cale was so skinny?

“Hyung?” Cale asked when Alver didn’t reply.

“Wait. Don’t come over here,” Alver said urgently, turning off the projector. He couldn’t let anyone see his dongsaeng like this. “Proceed with the meeting without me,” he said quickly before he turned off the audio transmitter as well.

Despite his instructions, the meeting was instantly hushed. No one spoke as their brains ran into overdrive - wasn’t that the voice of Young Master Silver Shield? After all, how many people could call the crown prince of Rowoon Kingdom ‘hyung’? B-but taking it off? Taking what off? What sort of relationship did the two of them have? Were they living together? Dating? More?

Loads of questions went unanswered as Alver went to help Cale.

“Hah…” Alver sighed with a light flush on his face. He pushed his hair back in a nervous fidget before he reached out to help with the remaining button. “Couldn’t you ask anyone else for help at the Henituse estate?”

In comparison, Cale was very calm and very still. “Ron wasn’t responding, and the others are busy training.”

And what, the crown prince of the nation isn’t busy?!

As if sensing Alver’s thoughts, Cale added on, “It’s easier to teleport to you than walk down all the stairs to the courtyard to find Choi Han.”

This damn lazy slacker…

“I shouldn’t have added a teleportation circle to your bedroom,” Alver grumbled half-heartedly.

Why was this so embarrassing? Alver bit his bottom lip. He was used to being dressed and undressed by attendants, but this felt… different. His hands shook ever so slightly, causing him to fumble with the button for a moment. When it was undone, the fabric fluttered, falling further, revealing the entire smooth expanse of Cale’s lithe, thin back. It was only held up by Cale’s shoulders at this point.

Alver cleared his throat and backed away. “T-there. It’s done.”

“Thanks, hyung,” Cale replied with a sleepy yawn. He gave a little backhanded wave and stepped right back into the teleportation circle. Alver stared at Cale’s back until Cale disappeared entirely.

Neither of them anticipated the wild rumors that would pop up due to their interactions that day.
