   Summary

   It didn't work between them all those years ago, and so they drifted into lives as fulfilling as they could make them, despite the scars they carried. From those scars grew love, enough to guide those who came after them.

   The scarred children became adults who taught the young how to face their own wounds, though every generation still has to find its own way.

   And even as the world moved on from them, those who came before still remain upon the same earth. Maybe a second chance wouldn't hurt anyone.

   This is a story about those who look toward the future, and those who look back at what they left behind.
