It was just after Past Life, and Xelqua felt a strong headache, stronger than when someone else was trying to push their way into front (or just when they were switchy or had just switched in), and not too different from the one they'd felt when they first formed.
Fucking hell. Hopefully this wasn't someone new. The others couldn't handle that right now, not right after a game.
Well, if it was someone new, this wouldn't be their first time they hid something from the rest of the system. And it probably wouldn't be the last time either.
So, when they felt the headache slightly fade away with them staying in front they sighed, knowing that this would be difficult to hide. But they would manage, no matter what it took.
They had to, even if just for the system’s wellbeing.
They had to do this.
There was no other way to make sure the system was okay.
So, when they felt themself being pushed away from front, they made sure to push away everyone who was in co-con and let the new alter take over.
Luckily for them, it took them a lot of concentration to leave co-con, and it had yet to happen involuntarily, so they could make sure the newbie didn't do anything that would alarm the system of their presence.
