Summary
Bucky had never been a selfish guy. Loyal to his cause, his business, his friend. He’d simpered and pranced around earlier this week, shaking hands with the right people, making the wrong people respect their authority by buying into the right markets, corrupting the right officials, and his business here was wrapped up by noon every day, and so in theory, his work here should be done.
And yet.
A set of steady eyes settles on him from the middle of the room.
The stage. Usually, he’d pick this time to scan the establishment, plan out several escape plans to mitigate the risks of potentially being caught by the authorities, make sure there's no correlation between this presence and any other mob movement he was involved with earlier this week.
But Bucky's not worried. He knows this pair of honey brown eyes.
This was why he lingered.
He won’t admit it, but Bucky’s developed a bit of a bad habit.
