Please don’t leave me!
“Dick-ie?” Jason ask unsure if Dick left him to die alone again. “Shh little wing I’m here, don’t worry everything’s going be okay you understand? Dads gonna come get us and then you’ll get the proper medical treatment and we’ll go home and I- I’ll read you Pride and Prejudice okay?” Dick rants. He honestly can’t think of anything else to do except pray that B gets to them soon and try to calm himself down enough to help Jason.
“Dickie…” Jason says pulling Dicks full attention back to him. “‘S okay…” Jason says, smiling at Dick before looking down at where he’d been shot.
“Jay,” Dick says knowing exactly what Jason’s saying is okay. “Please, please not again little wing! I-I can’t- we can’t! You can’t die, please Jason don’t leave me alone again!” Dick yells crying as he lowers his head down so his forehead is touching Jason’s.
“You’re not going be alone Dick, Tim and Dami are gonna be there this time.” Jason says trying to make his big brother stop crying the best he can in the current state he was in. Sure it wasn’t the best way but it’s all he can really think of while keeping most of his focus on staying awake and breathing.
“Please Jason, j-just stay here, don’t leave me!” Dick begs grabbing his dying baby brother’s hand.
“Dick… we both know how this’ll end… just stay here, please?” Jason tells his big brother. He already had excepted his fate a few minutes ago. Now he was just trying to make Dick stop crying. “Hey Dick, can you sing that song you used to when we were younger? The one you’d sing when I had nightmares as a kid?” Jason asked. If he was gonna die he wanted to hear his older brother sing before he left. He had missed the way Dick would sing and always wanted to ask him but was too afraid. Activity dying made him not care so much about what Dick might’ve said otherwise. Dick quietly gasp before sadly smiling.
“Of course Jace.” Is all Dick says before he’s lifting his head up and combing Jason’s hair back. “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,” Dick laughs wiping away a few tears, “You make me happy when skies are grey.” Jason leans his head into Dicks hand as the elder starts rubbing his head again. “You’ll never know dear, how much I love you.” Dick leans down and plants a kiss on Jason’s forehead making the younger keen.
Smiling Jason breathes in one last time, “I love you Dick.” and Jason lets all the air leave his body. Crying Dick raps his arms around his brother hugging his lifeless corpse. “Please don’t take my sunshine away…” Dick finishes crying into his dead little brothers neck.
