"Oho, can you hear that?" Satan sat on his thrown, relaxed with his legs, crossed.
"Hmmm, someone's calling for you, Satan."
The ritual for trying to make a deal with the devil is echoed throughout hell, drowning the pleas and cries of the prisoners and joined by the laugh of cheers of Satan's spawns.
"It's been so long since someone called me." He leaned down to one of his best spawn, Kuramochi, sprawled all over with his right hand, Ryousuke, their breathes mingling with each other.
"Have fun, Lucifer~" Ryousuke sing sang, tangling his fingers to Kuramochi's hair and caressing Satan's horns with his other.
"I will, hmmm, I'll leave everything to both of you while I'm gone." He gave both of them a caress on their arms and a kiss goodbye.
It's been centuries since someone asked for a deal, the last one's name was Furuya Satoru who was desperate to put those people who had bullied him into misery. Oh, how delicious his soul was, the sweetness of longing mixing with the flavor of bitterness and anger. The flavors were just right.
His footsteps clicked and shattered the cries in hell and slowly his horns are sinking, his red eyes turning to brown and his fangs hiding from any human eye. His cape disappeared to thin air and his clothes morphing into human equities. He looked like any mortal but one would think again with the smirk he's wearing. Glasses added up to his disguise to cover his perfections.
He arrived in a baseball stadium, teleporting where he heard the chant. He saw a boy, kneeling on the mound, delicious whimpers and sobs reached his ears, his fangs throbbing in delight.
"Sawamura Eijun," he let the name dangle on his mouth, trying to imagine what his soul might taste.
Then and there, Sawamura turned his head to the stranger looking at him. He couldn't see what he looks like, is he a demon? But he looked like a human. Was the ritual a fluke?
"W-who.. are y-you?"
Oh, how Satan loved the sight he saw. Tears staining the human’s whole face, running until his collarbones. Desperation evident in his eyes and just a total wreck of a human being.
Satan's eyes' glowed red. Most souls he had where bittersweet caused by the mixture of hatred and anger but this human, he's sad, he's depressed, and he’s nothing. The last time he had a full sweetened soul was when a human fell in love with his "good" friend back in heaven, the archangel, Michael, but they can never be something. He enjoyed that time which was forever ago.
"Now now, Eijun~" he sang, letting his eyes stay red and his fangs grow again. "What do you need me for~?" he approached the broken human, and caressed his wet cheeks. Satan's hand, warming immediately.
"Are you.. the devil?" Eijun's sentence were broken by painful sobs which Lucifer fed on to.
"What do you wish for in exchange for your soul?"
"....Please... be my friend.."
The king of sufferings and depression, for the first time, was almost shocked. His eyes, widening for a split second.
'How peculiar,' Satan thought. This put a grin on his face. Good thing he didn't gave this human to Mochi or Ryo.
"Oho~? You want to be the friend of the king of hell?"
"I don't care anymore," he cried out. Letting his head rest on his, ironically, only hope's shoulder. Satan stiffened and almost back away but he just sat there, letting the negative energy feed him. "I have nothing. I can't play baseball anymore because no one can catch my pitch! My family hates me because I chose baseball, my friends left because they can't handle my sadness! Just please... I don't want to be lonely. Be my friend... 2 weeks! Just give me 2 weeks, that's enough."
"Are you willing to sacrifice your soul for a 2 week friendship, Ei-chan?"
"I just want to remember what happiness is before I die."
Satan guided the boy by holding his chin and let their lips lock to seal the deal. His eyes turning back to brown and his fangs, shrinking again.
"Very well. I am Miyuki Kazuya, your new bestfriend. Nice to meet you."

Since Eijun lived alone now, he offered Miyuki to stay in his apartment. He preferred this than the dorms in his university which is full of nothing but judgment about him.
“You only have one bed. Should I sleep in the couch?” Miyuki suggested, but he knew that the human won’t let that.
“No! Sleep with me!” Eijun said. Both looked into each other’s eyes, Miyuki’s lips turning up a bit. Realizing what he just said, Eijun quickly lashed his arms in panic.
“Oho, I like where this is going.” Miyuki teased.
“No no no no no! I didn’t mean it like that! Y-you can sleep on my bed!” Eijun reworded what he meant.
Eijun washed up before going to bed, when he offered Miyuki to use the bathroom, the demon declined saying that he doesn’t need to. Magically, his own wardrobe appeared in Eijun’s room. Both laid down together, Eijun waiting for his sleep.
“Say, Eijun. What type of friendship do you want?” Miyuki asked, turning his body to the human.
“What do you mean?” Eijun stayed on his position, looking up the ceiling.
“You can choose one. A, simple and always hanging out friendship. B, adding a bit of bromance with a lot of skinship. Or C, friends with benefits,” the demon leaned down to whisper on Eijun’s ear. “I prefer the last one.”
Eijun turned his head abruptly and cover Miyuki’s face with his hands. “W-WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? N-NO WHY DO I EVEN HAVE TO CHOOSE JUST WHAT IS EVEN THOSE BENEFITS EISH JUST WHAT THE HELL” he spoke faster than a rapper.
The demon let out a chuckle and remove the hand tainting his glasses. “Do you prefer C, too?”
“Aish, just let me sleep, you damn demon.” Eijun hid his face but a shy grin was evident on his face. He’s cute while smiling, Satan thought, but he looked better when crying.
It was weird at first, Satan thought. If he could suffocate, he would from how tight Eijun hugs him while sleeping. From time to time, tears would trickle down from his human's eyes but Satan would respond to that with a tightening of his hug. Doing what a friend should do.
Lucifer watched the human as he sleeps, some nightmare invading his dreams so the creature let the night pass by wiping Eijun's tears, tasting the salty - but sweet for him - liquid.
When morning came, he cooked breakfast for the human before he wakes up, just like a good friend would. And the smile on the human's face was so brightening when he saw the dishes but the look on his eyes was beautifully in pain.
At school, suddenly, there's a new student, a new catcher who's talented as hell (no pun intended) with the name of Miyuki Kazuya. In a snap, Eijun is ace again, suddenly they're winning games again and suddenly, Eijun is feeling a lot better.
A week had passed and as Miyuki and Eijun are on their way to practice, talking about the movie they watched last night, a metal bat meeting a head in a loud klang, roared in the empty hallways. Everything seemed to freeze except Miyuki's body as it fell to the ground, blood staining the floor.
Eijun looked at the players who smugly smiled. They were the 3 senpais that were always leading him to more misery.
"We don’t need an arrogant bastard in this team."
"Headline: 2 baseball players, fought each other to death."
"Now, Sawamura. You're next!
Eijun is boiling with rage caused by sadness and fear. Fearing that he lost someone again.
"You… you’re gonna pay for this.” Eijun’s whispered.
Then next morning, the headlines states: 3 baseball players attacked by an animal.
"I'm sorry!" Eijun bowed 180 degrees.
"Eh? For what?" Miyuki ruffled his hair.
"They targeted you because of me."
"Don't worry about that! Plus, you avenged me, didn't you? You totally killed the tall one." he grabbed Eijun's arms and let him sit on his lap.
"Yeah, but you had to kill the other two for me! I should have killed them for you too!"
"That's sweet, Ei-chan~ but seriously, forget about it! I'm alright now."
But Sawamura was stubborn. He insisted making breakfast the next day, not letting the devil leave their room. After his preparations, he shoved the tray to Miyuki's lap and run out of the room. Cute, Satan thought.

“Hey, Miyuki, do you want to go to the amusement park?” Eijun asked while they’re doing the dishes.
“Hmm? Today? You want to skip school?”
“I’ll be gone soon, anyway. Who cares? I only have 2 days.”
Time seem to have flown too fast that even Satan was a bit shocked knowing that there are only 2 days left. He had too much fun toying with the people that bullied his human without his knowing.
So their plans were set for the day. As soon as they arrived, Eijun immediately dragged Miyuki to the haunted house.
“Are you serious?” Miyuki asked, looking at the exaggerated decorations of the house.
“Is the king of hell scared?” Eijun teased.
“I just hate their low quality costumes.” Miyuki sighed but entered the house anyway. With hands on his pocket, he let Eijun hug his other arm while looking around for jump scares.
“Why do humans bring misery to themselves? Sure, it makes my job easier but this is just plain stupid.” Miyuki commented as Eijun shouted at the object that suddenly fell from above them.
“Shut up!” Eijun answered back.
Miyuki just enjoyed Eijun shouting, screaming and almost crying since the negative energy soothes him. They were five steps away from the exit when suddenly, a cold bloody hand grabbed Miyuki’s other arm. The devil looked at the human playing the role and gave a red eyed glared. The whole house seem to grow cold and heavy and the human that grabbed Miyuki ran out of the house, arms on his head and shouting.
“Miyuki! What did you do?!” Eijun gave him a scolding which he just tuned out with a grin.
To his surprise, the devil actually enjoyed the day since a lot of people were screaming in distress and fear as they ride the dangerous ones. Human beings sure are stupid and interesting.
“You’re just like all of them, Ei-chan.” Miyuki said as Eijun eat his cotton candy.
“Who?”
“Human beings are all the same. They seek their own misery but cry over it later. To be honest, you chose yours too when you have decided to devote your all in baseball.”
“Maybe,” Eijun shrugged, “Maybe. But if that’s so, why do they treat me like I’m not the same as them? If we are all the same, why are they bullying and putting the humans, who are their own same species, into misery? Isn’t that your only right, Satan?”
The answer that the human gave satisfied the devil so much. With a chuckle, he patted his head. “Everyone is greedy, aren’t they?” he said with a hint of amusement in his voice.
~
Both of them quitted school and now, they sat on Eijun's apartment's rooftop, their feet dangling at the edge. It's the night of the 14th day.
Eijun was silently crying.
"Are you scared?" Miyuki kissed his cheeks, just softly touching the skin with his lips.
"Nope. I'm thankful." he smiled through his tears. "I was too scared to commit suicide because my soul might be tormented in hell. And waiting for my death is too long, that's why I called you. At least my soul won't be wandering, right?" He gave a painful chuckle.
This soul is too broken, too sweet, too sad, too beautiful, and just too much that Satan can't afford to lose it in one bite.
He kissed the human in front of him but he didn't take the soul, instead he gave. Horns are growing from the human's head, fangs are hurting their mouth but they didn't care and let their kiss turns into a bloody mess. Eijun's eyes turned into a golden ball of fire. It was too beautiful. When they broke their kiss, they looked at each other - Eijun in his devil form and Miyuki as the Satan himself.
"Change of plans. You're going home with me."

"Are you saying that this.. this...." Kuramochi made a big gesture with his hands, pointing at sawamura who blushed and hid behind Satan's throne "This right here is higher than all of us????!"
"Yepp," Satan said, stretching the p, looking relax as he check his nails.
Ryo approached the new spawn, more like the partner of Satan, who squirmed away and was on the verge of crying.
"What a depressed boy. Pity, could have been so sweet."
Everyone in hell found it weird to ask permission on the lonely shy boy but in the end, they couldn't do anything if it was Satan's words.
One day, Eijun was walking around, head down and just being his depressed self. He just finished handling out punishments to the new arrivals and it was tiring. “Ah, when will Satan come back,” he whispered. He still gets awkward when others bow down to him to the point that he ends up bowing back.
He was on his way to his and Satan’s chamber when Kuramochi and Ryousuke approached him.
"Wanna have some fun, Ei-chan~?" the pinked hair spawn said, loving the way the newbie quiver as he touch his cheeks.
And out of nowhere, a poof appeared and there stood Satan.
"Hey hey, don't leave me out of fun."
