Still not over the ending. I just want our Angel and Demon to know that they get a happy ending in another universe.

Work Text:

Fading away didn’t hurt at all, it felt rather warm and soft like it was when he was first made. Crowleys hand was secure in his during these final moments and Aziraphale gave him one last watery smile before closing his eyes and letting the ineffable plan finally come to an end.

That was strange. Aziraphale blinked awake slowly, this wasn’t what was meant to happen, him and Crowley were meant to be gone. He slowly sat up or at least what would have been sitting up if he had a body. He felt very light as if he had been discorporated again, he looked down at where his hands would be and could only see a faint outline against a dark sky. What on earth was happening?

“Crowley?” he called, “Are you here?” his voice echoed, coming from nowhere and everywhere all at once. He took a small step forward, it was more of a glide really as if he were some sort of ghost. He continued on through the blank void, he seemed to be the only thing here. “Crowley?” he was getting desperate now, surely if he was somehow still here Crowley must be as well. Alas he seemed to be alone. No, he wasn’t. Just ahead of him there was a faint outline against the monotonous black. It was faint and colourless but he would know his Crowley anywhere. “Angel? Angel!” he seemed to sense Crowleys call rather than hear it but his voice was still the same. Aziraphale propelled himself forward again, through the thick air of whatever this void was, it didn’t matter if it was a massive ocean or hell itself he would find a way to Crowley. Crowley was also coming towards him and with one last push he fell into the former demons arms.

As they made contact a small spark lit up against the bleak dark place. It was small, so small it would have been easy to miss if there was anything else around. A small warm spark. They watched together still in each others arms as it slowly expanded, a chain reaction of more and more sparks that lit up the void. Gases steamed from the sparks in vibrant blues, yellows and pinks as light began to bloom around them. “Angel, I think we just restarted the universe.” Crowley whispered making Aziraphale laugh, even in this new universe Crowley had managed to create his beloved stars. “Its just as beautiful as the first time.” Crowley said but when Aziraphale looked up at him the demon wasn’t looking out into the cosmos he was looking at him. Aziraphale felt himself smile in whatever way he still could and reached up to press a kiss to his dearests lips. They stayed locked together as the new free universe began to expand around them. Elements began to form and nebulas to build as they watched. Aziraphale felt warm again but this time it wasn’t from any heavenly power it was coming from within, a warm golden glow. Crowley too was glowing a hot red so like his hair. “Whats happening?” Aziraphale asked softly although he think he already knew, “I think were going to be stars Angel.” They both let out a delighted laugh, Aziraphale more of a chuckle while Crowleys was as strong and bright as he was now shining. They stayed pressed close together as the glow got stronger slowly enveloping each other.

Millions of Years later

Asa looked up at the stars, he didn’t understand most of the things Anthony said about the more technical stuff but he didn’t care. He was here with the man he adored who managed to look more beautiful than the sky they were observing. He leaned further intp Anthonys shoulder feeling his long warm arm settle around his shoulders. “What star is that?” he asked pointing at one bright star, the faint light caught on his gold wedding ring. “Oh that one,” his beloved said teasingly, his Scottish accent curling around the words. “Its Alpha Centauri.” He explained softly with a smile, “It looks like a star from far way but really its two stars so close together they look like one.” Asa looked up at him with a small smile, Anthony was looking down at him with a soft look in his eyes that Asa never thought he would have, “It reminds me of us.” Anthony finally said causing a hot blush to rise on Asa’s cheeks, he tilted his head up finding his husbands lips and pressed a soft kiss to them. They looked up together at the two stars and those two stars looked back down at them, remembering when they had once been an Angel and a Demon looking up the the two very stars they had now become.
