    Hmmm. Perhaps not. Perhaps there are too many enemies out there, too many ruffled feathers and too much frustrated anger looking for something to take it out on. Or someone.

    Aziraphale had never really been that good at standing up for himself, but standing up for others? For Crowley? Well, anyone who thinks he is not going to do that is an idiot. An idiot who will underestimate him at their peril.

    The fact that Aziraphale has paled some himself and reached up to clutch at the front of his dressing gown doesn’t seem to bode well.

    “You—you’re with child, Crowley,” he says, just like that, in the messy parlor of this once-scourged effing bookshop in Soho where Crowley thought he’d lost the one thing he ever really cared about, the car be damned, since they unraveled into existence and millennia began.

    God's a bit tetchy, and She always has been. She never thought She'd have to punish Her own angels, not after the Fall. What to do with a Heaven whose system doesn't work anymore? When She decides some restructuring is in order, Aziraphale's life gets decidedly more complicated.

    Aziraphale just wishes someone had given him a warning instead of throwing him straight off the deep end.

    Crowley, for his part, really just wants Heaven and Hell to leave them both alone, but with angels and demons knocking at their door, the stakes have never been higher.

     

    OR--that time God said 'fuck it all' and decided to restructure Heaven.
