    Summary

“I…” he breathes for air he doesn’t even require. Nothing makes sense inside his head - the same one that’s always worked by calculations and logic. The diagnostics he's running in the background aren't turning up any errors regarding his displayed date and time. He gawks at the agents before him. “I think I’ve travelled through time somehow.”

The synthetic detective Connor Anderson, who still struggles to accept his newfound identity, is assigned a case regarding a former Cyberlife employee. A similar case is given to Agent Mulder and his temporary partner Agent Cooper in 1996, after Agent Scully has fallen sick with lethal cancer. To each of their own struggles with hopelessness and guilt, they must come together to finish off this investigation. Welcome to investiverse, where I've scrambled all my fictional favourites together!

    Summary

Prompt: “We are changed souls; we don’t look at things the same way anymore. For there was once a time when we expected the worst. But then the worst happened, did it not? And so we will never be surprised again.”
