Summary

That is, until an unprecedented kaiju attack caused him to step into the most famous Jaeger to date. Suddenly, he was piloting alongside the legend himself, Victor Nikiforov. And stranger still, he was expected to do it again.

Later, Max will think the system got it right for all the wrong reasons. That maybe two people made of broken parts fit together not because they complete each other, but because they know where the cracks already are.
