December 30th, 6:38 pm, Wheelers house.
“Grab your jacket honey..”
I pick up Mikes yellow jacket as he opens the front door
”oh right sorry..”
I roll my eyes and walk outside in the cold snowy weather while the sky gets darker
”boys please be careful with your friends! be home at 9!” Mrs Wheeler yells back from the kitchen
“We will!!” Mike answers back
I open the garage to get our bikes out since Mike got banned from using the car since he forgot to do the dishes one night and Mrs Wheeler punished him and I’m not even allowed to drive the car because I technically don’t have my license yet.
~6:58 pm Dustin’s house
“uh..Dustin? Lucas..Max? anyone home?” I knock on Dustin’s front door laughing quietly as me and Mike wait to be let inside
Mike shivers quietly
“it’s s-so cold..” Mike laughs uncomfortably
“oh do you want my extra coat..? I have one just in case” I unzip my bag
”Oh no i’m fine..” Mike looks over quickly
The door opens and warm air flies out, Dustin smiles
“ohh hey! It’s my two lovebirds! Come on in, Let’s not have you freeze to death out there!”
I roll my eyes and Mike scoffs
“Hey at-least I found my lover!!” Mike puts his hand on my shoulder and laughs
“finee, Just because I haven’t seen Suzie in like forever doesn’t mean I don’t love her.. besides, She’s coming down here in a few months so haha to you.”
Dustin waves his hand walks back to the kitchen to grab Lucas and Max.
”What’s up guys!”
Lucas walks over and Max is behind him.
”Okay, I don’t know what time El will be here but I have food.. so if anybody is hungry feel free to grab a snack..” Dustin walks over
“okay, well im bored so let’s play a game or something..” Max flops onto the couch shrugging
“What game?” I ask
”Well we could play..Fireball island..uno..I don’t really keep that much games..”
”I vote Fireball island“ Mike raises his hand
“uh same I guess” I also raise my hand
“Okay then same.” Lucas and Max raise their hands
Dustin grabs the game off a little shelf near the door and sets it up on the table while I sit down next to Max and Mike.
As Dustin explains the parts and how to really play the game I notice Mike zoning out so I quietly tap his hand and he flinches
“sorry I didn’t mean to scare you.. you just zoned out” I say whisper-like
”oh.. yeah sorry.” Mike whispers back
“AHEM.. do our two lovers here need a moment in the kitchen or are we good?” Dustin looks up holding a figure in his hands
”w-uh..no we’re fine sorry..” I answer back scoffing.
~ 7:58 PM Dustin’s house
As I sit on the end of the couch next to Mike, the movie plays quietly in the background of Dustin's living room while others sit and watch, everyone talking, whispering, mumbling.
Mike leans onto my shoulder softly and gently relaxes after awhile
“Mike..? Are you okay?” I ask
“I’m okay, just tired” He answers back sighing like it’s been held in for awhile
“We can leave if you want..”
“No.. No it’s fine, I don’t want to, besides, your shoulder is comfy thank you very much ~” He giggles softly on my shoulder
“ha-ha, okay, just know if you want to just come tell me” I smile back and look up at the TV.

Max and Lucas look over at Will and Mike.
“ugh their so in love but it’s such a slow process for them” Max groans
“Yeah, yeah, but let them be, they're still getting used to the fact they're actually together.. and I'm still shocked cause I'd never think of them together.” Lucas answers back
“I betted 5$ to Dustin that they would be so in love together, especially Mike. I always knew Will was.. in love with him.” Max sighs
Dustin looks up and laughs
“Yeah you did!”
“oh shut up” Max rolls her eyes
Will looks over and Mike picks his head up,
“What are you guys giggling about?”
Will raises an eyebrow
“Yeah..what?” Mike comments
“nothing” Lucas responds looking back at the TV
“yeah. Nothing” Max also says and then looks back up at the TV
“Mhm!” Dustin looks at the TV the same way Lucas and Max does, pretty much copying
“oo-kay” Will shrugs and looks at Mike
Mike shrugs and gets up and walks to the bathroom leaving Will sitting there lonely.

Mike closes the bathroom door behind him and the TV gets slightly quieter and things get number,
sigh
I’m worried.

Why, you ask?
Because he’s been very quiet lately and usually he’s talking and talking and talking.
But he’s been quiet and clingy lately and I just can’t figure out why.
I hear a slow little slide down on the bathroom door behind it, and I start to overthink.
Is he okay?
Did he faint?
Is he sick?
What’s wrong?
What if..
What if…
What if….
“Hey Will you good?”
El waves a hand in front of me,
I forgot she got here about 15 minutes ago.
“Wha- Oh yeah sorry El I- I must’ve zoned out sorry..” I laugh a bit
“Oh no worries, Uh..you seem pretty..numb? What’s up?”
“Uh..Nothing just Mikes been in the bathroom for awhile..and I dunno if he’s good or not” I say picking my nail
“Then go check on him? I mean you two are pretty.. close so..I don’t think he would mind if you just give a knock” El shrugs
“Oh.. Oh yeah-..yeah I’ll go check on him, thanks I guess” I stand up and walk towards the bathroom
El gives a thumbs up as I walk away and turns towards the rest of the party to join their conversation

I knock on the door of the bathroom and I hear a slow move off the door and the knob slowly turns
“h-oh.. hi will..” Mike looks down,
“hey honey..are you good..? I didn’t mean to..interrupt just you’ve been in here..awhile” I let go of the door knob
“uh..um”..” Mike stutters
“I can come in if you want, or you can come out here.” I look up at his dark brown eyes.
“y-you can come in here” He opens the door and move out of the way
I walk in and he locks the door behind him,
“Okay, so what’s wrong? You're definitely not telling me something.” I lean onto the sink
“I..I dunno..just it’s really..really uh-um..l-loud out there and they keep yelling and arguing about random things and-“
Mike's pace in words gets faster
“- you know I hate loud things especially yelling and fighting because.. that’s what my parents did and I don’t like it so I just came in here too leave the loudness and it’s quiet in he-“
“Mike, slow down.., it’s okay”
he starts to cry.
“I-I’m sorry.. I d-don’t want y-you to b-be m-mad..” He hiccups his words
“i’m not mad, it’s okay really, calm down” I say in a softer voice
I pull him into a hug and his tears get my sweater wetted
“besides, it’s getting late anyway and i’m definitely tired, and if we stay in here any longer their all gonna think we doing something.. never mind I won’t say “ I giggle
“ha-ha, I know what you mean” Mike smiles and wipes his eyes with his hand.
I look at his soft dark brown eyes and freckles and he looks at mine,
I hold his cheeks and he grabs my waist
“okayy wheeler ~” I grin slightly
kiss..

kissing!
i’m interrupted by his lips touching mine and the smell of coffee on him and he gives a sharp inhale while I whisper,
“your grabbing my waist too hard” I laugh a bit and he lets go,
“Okay, we are ready to go face the talk of Max, Lucas, Dustin, and El “ as I spin Mike around and he seems dizzy already.
“y-yeah” he blushes
I unlock the bathroom door and look at the clock
8:42 PM
I turn back around and look at Mike
“what?” He asks confused
“we were in here for about 20 minutes” I point at the ground, meaning the bathroom
“oh my gosh “ Mike runs his hands through his curly black hair
“ohh they are soo gonna be mad.”
I laugh and walk out to the couch,
Mike follows behind.
I sit down on the couch where I was before and Mike sits next to me.
They all stare.
“what?” Mike looks over
“What took you guys so long?” Lucas scoffs
“no I know what took them so long.”
Max rolls her eyes and grins
“uh..” I say looking at Mike
“mwah~ mwah ~, it’s sooo obvious duh, If you two were gone together for twenty minutes, in a bathroom together! That’s what definitely has been happening “
Max grins from ear to ear.
“Uh.. No! We weren’t doing that-“
Mike exclaims uncomfortably
“Okay fine. You caught us. Ha-ha, So what if we were? “ I roll my eyes clearly annoyed
“damn he actually admitted it.” Lucas mumbles to himself.
“Not so innocent anymore Byers huh?” Dustin laughs
“Dustin you shut up.” Mike mumbles
“okay okay.. let’s all calm down” El stands up and walks in front of the TV
“Fine” everyone says.
innocent..?

~ 8:58 PM
I grab my boots and coat and Mike puts his on as well
“Thanks for inviting us!!” I say happily as everyone else grabs their stuff to go.
“Anytime, also, we all should do something like a huge hangout slash sleepover kinda thing soon!”
Dustin leans against the coat hanger almost knocking it over.
Everyone leaves the house and Dustin shuts the front door,
“bye guys!” Lucas and Max yell from their car and they slowly back out
El waves as Hopper pulls up in his car to pick her up
I wave as she steps in the car and Hopper notices
Mike walks down the driveway with me to grab our bikes
“Hey Will. Wheeler, hope you guys get home safe.” Hopper rolls down the window while it slightly starts to snow
“Thank you too!” I say back as he pulls away in his car
I grab my bike and Mike does the same.
~ 9:09 PM Wheelers residents
I open the front door to Mike's house and quietly take my coat and shoes off since everyone else is sleeping.
Mike looks in the living room and walks up the stairs as I follow behind.
Me and Jonathan have been living at the Wheelers ever since we were all defeated..Vecna and Mom, Hopper, and El have been living at the cabin since it’s small enough for them there.
Jonathan sleeps in the basement since Nancy and him aren’t together anymore but they're still very close friends.
I sleep in Mike's room on an extra mattress because it’s really cold in the basement and Mike is too worried I could get.. sick again if I get too cold, but me and Mike sometimes sleep together just for comfort.
Living with the wheelers is not forever but only until me (and Mike) and Jonathan find actual places to live for college and what not.
Mike opens the door to his room and I set my bag down on the floor trying to be as quiet as possible.
“You can talk, the doors and walls in this house are pretty soundproof so nobody can really hear much, unless you're actually doing something loud.”
Mike rambles about how the walls are like soundproof or something
“Okay okay, uh..well I’m gonna get changed in the bathroom and brush my teeth so i’ll be right back” I say smiling while he flops on his bed.
-3 minutes later
I come back and shut the door behind me and Mike is already setting his bed up to go to sleep.
“Do you wanna sleep here tonight or mattress”
Mike points to the mattress or his bed
“I’ll sleep on the mattress” I grab my sketchbook and sit down
“What are you drawing?” Mike leans over on his bed
“uhh nothing much, just sketching” I smile looking up at him
I boop his nose and he giggles
“okay night” Mike says and he turns the light out
“night, love you” as I close the sketchbook and put it on the side.
“love you” he mumbles.
