Parrot is back in Paragon, obsidian walls looming around him. The place feels like a dead body - it feels like stepping inside a massive fossil. WIthout Wifies, the place feels dead. Pitiful. He walks, and walks. Past the charred remains of the cherry house, past the fishing dock, past the mine entrance.
To the mausoleum, Wifies’ tomb. It doesn’t look like a mausoleum - if anything, it’s more of a type of worship. Its ochre froglights bathe the structure in honey. It was never intended to be a tomb for the dead. It was a tomb for the living, trapped inside until they both rotted away.
He steps into the massive crater, careful not to step on any sharp pieces of rubble. Wifies, I’m so tired. I don’t want to come back to this place anymore, you know? Even though I escaped, I’m still stuck in here. Why won’t you let me go?
He walks and walks, his footsteps crunching on the thin layer of rock-sand that has settled on the crater. He walks and walks and walks and walks until there’s nothing but obsidian in front of him and his eyesight is blurred - tears? - but he keeps walking because he wants out. He’s so, so tired of this whole game.
