Kinformation.

Summary:

Kit is still getting the hang of this wacky world, learning how to plan and who she can and cannot trust.

When a very purple lady offers her help and guidance, how can she say no? She's dazzled by her!

Work Text:

Kit exited her round, yellow spacecraft — which she had named Nimble — and carefully stepped foot on the new Game World’s surface. She brushed strands of her brown hair out of the way of her burgundy eyes, wanting to get a better look at what she was dealing with.

It seemed to be some sort of.. Battleground? Most of the land was barren, with most plants crushed or blown up. Large purple tanks entered and exited what appeared to be a bunker, purple soldiers with purple and black weapons accompanied them.

“So, Kit, whaddya say we do?” A small, irregularly shaped metal rock spoke from Kit’s back.

“I..” Kit paused, looking over her shoulder at Kaboodle. Despite losing so much, she was thankful to still have her robot friend who very conveniently doubled as a backpack.

Everything was still so new to Kit, she didn’t understand most of it! With her world destroyed, she made it her mission to make sure no other worlds would meet that same fate, to protect the characters living there.

All she knew was she couldn’t let the hero of this world win, and she figured the best way to find whoever this mysterious winner was was by going to the bunker ahead of them.

“Let’s head to the bunker, wait for a tank to return and hop on the back, we’ll sneak in that way,” Kit decided, switching her outfit to a pair of purple and black camouflage cargo pants, black platform combat boots, a black tank top and a dark purple jacket. There, now she’d blend in!

“Lead the way!” Kaboodle grinned, clinging to Kit. With that, Kit stalked through the black grass with the stealth of a feline, waiting for a tank to approach. As another tank began its return to the bunker, Kit pounced onto the back. She landed with a slight wobble, but thankfully stayed on.

Kit breathed a sigh of relief. “We’re on!” She whispered to Kaboodle. She glanced around the side of the tank, the bunker wasn’t far now. They’d be there in no time. For now Kit just folded her arms and leaned against the tank, trying to look like a tough army member. Hell yeah.

The tank slowly rolled down a ramp into the bunker, loading into the parking slots. A woman’s voice blared over the speakers as the tank came to a sudden halt. “Welcome back, cadets! Intelligence, diligence and excellence, join the Violet Violence!”

“WAOH OH AH OAF!” Kit tumbled off the edge of the tank, not expecting the tank’s instant stop or the harsh, grating sound of the speaker. She hit the ground with a great ol’ thud.

“Intelligence, diligence and excellence, join the Violet Violence!” Each soldier repeated back. Kit blinked, Violet Violence?  “Huh what’s..?”

“It’s the name of the army, duh.” Kaboodle poked Kit with one of his red claws, bringing Kit back to reality. Seriously, it was obvious! “Purple here, purple there, purple everyfuckingwhere!”

“Oh, OH, right, makes sense,” Kit shook her head, clearing her thoughts after the fall. She scratched at one of her cat ears and swooshed her tail, helping her to get her balance back.

“I’m gonna go scout out the area, see if I can find this hero person, I’ll report back if I find anything,” Kaboodle hopped off Kit’s back and skedaddled off and up a wall like a spider.

“Stay safe!” Kit called from her spot on the floor. She glanced around, wow, this place was really.. Purple.. Purple walls, purple floors, purple dust.. Hey, there was even a pair of purple boots in front of her! Wait..

“Took a tumble, dear?” An accented voice spoke from above the purple boots. Kit squinted up to see a woman towering over her, purple gloved hand outstretched. The woman was fittingly dressed in a purple military suit with yellow at its centre. Her long blonde ponytail framed her striking face, which displayed a warm smile.

Kit stared up in awe, dazzled by the woman, despite her resembling a plum. She opened her mouth to speak but the words wouldn’t come out. Kit hesitated, but couldn’t help but reach her hand out to take the other woman’s, enthralled by her.

“There we are, dust yourself off,” The blonde woman helped to haul Kit up, pulling most of the weight as Kit stared wide-eyed at her. As Kit got to her feet, she snapped out of her trance, shaking debris off.

“Thank you, ma’am,” Kit dipped her head in thanks. “You are uhh.. Madame.. Mauve..?” Kit guessed purely on the fact that the woman was so purple! What other name would fit?

The woman chuckled. “I take it you’re new, I’m Miss Information. I watch over all the cadets, give them orders, introduce the newcomers to life with the Violet Violence force, and most importantly I collect and provide information.” Miss Information explained, twirling her ponytail.

“Ah, I see!” Kit beamed. Of course her name wouldn’t be Madame Mauve! That was way too predictable.

“Which means you cadet, yes you, are the next on my tour list!” Miss Information exclaimed, giving a little clap. “If you have recovered from your fall, which I can see you have,” Miss Information looked Kit up and down, “then we’ll begin straight away! Come, come!”

With that, Miss Information led the way out of the parking area into the main training ground of the bunker. Kit followed with a hurry, not wanting to get left behind. She whacked herself on the head with her hand. Focus, Kit! You’re here for a mission, not to drool over some lady!

“This here is the training ground, it is—” Miss Information was cut off as a cadet crashed into her. She sighed, immediately recognising who it was.

“Kyle, what did I tell you about watching where you were going? This is why we can’t let you out on the battleground,” Miss Information lightly scolded, giving the antsy cadet a look of sympathy.

“Sorry, Miss Information!” Kyle squeaked. “I got kicked out of training for using my gadgets.. I was just gonna go back to my room..” Kyle mumbled, avoiding Miss Information’s eyes.

“That’s no use,” Miss Information shook her head. “If you want to create gadgets, go help Mr Doorman with reinforcing our doors,” Miss Information suggested.

“Great idea, thanks Miss Information!” Kyle cheered, dashing off, crashing into other soldiers on his way.

“He seems nice,” Kit smiled, turning back to Miss Information, tail swaying.

“Ah, yes, nice kid but all over the place!” Miss Information pitied. “Alas, he’ll make a good weapon maker. Now, where were we? Oh right, the training ground!”

Upon finishing the tour, Kit was exhausted! She could hardly stand! She wondered how Kaboodle was getting on, she hadn’t heard anything from him yet.

“You must be tired after all of that information, dear. I will show you to your room!” Miss Information strutted off down the hall, her heels making a loud click-tap sound with her long stride.

Yeah, plenty of information. Kit chuckled to herself before shaking her head. Gosh, this woman was driving her crazy! Stop it, Kit! Focus on your mission. She once again scurried after Miss Information, trotting alongside her.

“I just realised, I never caught your name dear,” Miss Information turned her head towards Kit, lifting a dark brow, her ponytail flicking with sass.

“Oh, my name is uhh… Kat! Wait no, it’s Kit! Yeah, Kit,” Kit tripped over her words, face turning scarlet with embarrassment. Her ears and tail shot up momentarily before drooping.

“Alright then, KitKat,” Miss Information chuckled poshly, raising a gloved hand to cover her laugh. “My apologies, I thought it would be funny.”

A nickname? Hm, Kit had never had one of them, her name wasn’t long enough for one. She liked this one though, but would NOT be telling Kaboodle about it or she’d never hear the end of it!

“It’s fine, I don’t mind. I like it, actually,” Kit beamed. Gosh Kit what are you saying?!

“Very well then, KitKat,” Miss Information grinned, stopping outside a large door. “This’ll be your new room! Make yourself comfy.”

Miss Information unlocked the hefty door with a keycard before handing Kit a spare card. Miss Information led the way in, giving Kit a run down of everything it included before sitting on the bed. “Come, come!” She beckoned.

Kit hastily sat down beside Miss Information, heart pounding in her chest. She fidgeted nervously, avoiding eye contact. She carefully checked her watch, nothing. Gosh, Kaboodle! Come save me!

“So, Kit. Tell me a bit about yourself,” Miss Information smiled warmly. “You look too old to be a cadet, how come you’re here? How old are you?”

“Oh yeah, uhm, I’m 26,” Kit answered truthfully. “I had nothing better to do, couldn’t find work so thought I’d join here,” Kit then lied, a quick cover up.

“Ah, I’m 27! Interesting,” Miss Information chirped, leaning closer to Kit. “Say Kit, you’re awfully pretty! You have model potential! And those cat ears and tail, agh, too cute!”

Kit returned to her scarlet colour, sweating like crazy. As she struggled to find an answer, a loud, deafening siren sounded throughout the bunker. “Uhh, what’s that..?” Kit queried.

“Uh oh, that means the Amber Attackers have invaded! Quick, take cover!” Miss Information urged, pulling Kit under a nearby table.

Once covered, Kit blinked at Miss Information, who blinked back at her. Kit stared deep into Miss Information’s deep maroon eyes which were framed with pointy black lashes.

“You have pretty eyes, Missy..” Kit caught herself uttering. She immediately covered her mouth, eyes wide. WHY DID SHE SAY THAT?! MISSY?! Kit prayed that Miss Information hadn’t heard her words over the sound of the siren.

“Missy, huh?” Miss Information smirked. Yep, she had heard. “Don’t be embarrassed, I tend to have that effect on people.”

Kit took a deep breath, calming herself. She eyed Miss Information’s lips, which wore a matching purple lipstick. Kit caught herself starting to slowly lean in. Maybe it was her imagination but was Miss Information leaning in too?

Kit’s heart pounded. Miss Information closed her eyes, and Kit did too. Just as the pair were about to meet, Kaboodle’s voice screeched in Kit’s inner ear device.

“Kit! Kit! The hero is this guy named Kyle! He’s about to defeat the Amber Attackers! The Villains! Also there’s this woman! Miss Information! DON'T TRUST HER SHE’S LYI—” Kaboodle was cut off as Kit’s device died. Unluckily, Kaboodle has shouted loud enough for Miss Information to hear.

Kit jumped back, hitting her head against the table. “Yeowch! Fuck.. You! You..”

Miss Information sighed, her previously warm expression turning cold. “It seems your accomplice figured it out, how unfortunate. I actually liked you.” Miss Information frowned slightly before grinning devilishly.

“But you.. How..? Why?” Kit asked, how had she been fooled so easily?

“I told you, I give information and I gather information. Some is the truth, and others is, let’s just say.. Misinformation.” Miss Information cackled at her own joke.

Kit’s expression fell flat, it was in her name how didn’t she realise? “So you were just distracting me this whole time?”

“Bingo,” Miss Information nodded. “Though, I must admit, I got a little distracted too..” Miss Information’s cheeks went rosy momentarily.

Suddenly, the whole world began to fall apart, every object turning crimson.

Another character flew in, grabbing Miss Information and taking off up and out of the Game World.

“Hope to see you again, KitKat! So long, Farcade! Another Syntax win!” Miss Information cackled as she soared up and out of sight.

Kit looked around desperately for any sign of a way out. Just a minute later, a very battered looking Kaboodle scampered in. “Kit! Quick!” Kaboodle jumped up and locked arms with Kit.

The two merged, transforming. “Kibble Star Cannon!” The two exclaimed, using their new form to power themselves up and out of the Game World. As they flew, Nimble returned, catching the two inside.

Kit sighed as she collapsed on the floor once safe inside Nimble again, her and Kaboodle separating again. She could see a glow outside, another ship?

“Kit, are you okay?” Kaboodle asked. Kit went closer to the window, distracted. “Kit? Kit! Are you even listening to me?” Kaboodle huffed, frowning.

Kit squinted, in the distance she saw a dark ship.

She could just about make out the writing on the window of the enemy ship.

“Another time, KitKat?”
