    i’ve been thinking about this idea for the past few days and eventually decided to write it, even though i know this is not what’s happening canonically with suo. something about chapter 216 just made this concept stick in my brain and i wanted to explore it.

    this fic portrays suo as having dissociative identity disorder (DID), a trauma-related dissociative disorder that can involve identity fragmentation, memory loss, dissociation, and different identity states/alters formed as a way to survive repeated trauma, especially during childhood.

    this story is not meant to portray DID as scary, violent, or “evil,” and i know one fic can never fully represent real experiences. more than anything, i wanted to write about survival, loneliness, identity, and learning that being fragmented does not make someone unworthy of love or community
