Work Text:
Jouno had had a pounding headache the entire day. And he knew exactly why.
Tecchou was next to them as they walked through the empty night streets of Yokohama, and in normal circumstances Jouno would be quite happy hearing the quiet sound of night owls and the distant ringing of late night shop bells. But these circumstances weren't normal. Why? Because Tecchou was right next to him.
Jouno could hear everything Tecchou was doing. The rustling of his clothes, the faint beating of his heart, his soft steps against the gravel, and especially, especially the breathing.
God, Jouno hated it.
It was the loudest sound that the normally extremely quiet Tecchou would make, and since their bodies were so… near each other, he could hear every goddamn breath. In through the nose, and out obnoxiously through his stupid mouth.
It drove him damn near mad.
Finally, Jouno decided to voice out his increasingly growing annoyances.
“Could you stop breathing so damn loud?” He snapped as he turned to face Tecchou in his general direction. Tecchou didn’t say anything, but the sound of the breathing finally stopped. “God, thank you.” He said quietly as the headache behind his eyes faded into nothing.
One minute passed without the sounds of the breathing. Then two. And then three. Jouno was growing more concerned by the minute as they continued walking. He could hear Tecchou’s heartbeat and steps, but he couldn’t hear his breathing.
Tecchou wasn’t much better on his end.
After around three minutes, he started seeing stars in his vision. He forgot that he was completely holding his breath, and the stars momentarily confused him.
Then the dizziness hit.
After around minute 4 Tecchou began to sway on his feet; ever so slightly. But Jouno caught it. Jouno caught everything, matter of fact.
And then…
Thud.
Tecchou’s body hit the ground after minute five, his body limp from lack of oxygen and carbon dioxide buildup in his body.
“Tecchou?” Jouno asked. He could still hear his heartbeat from the ground, but it was quiet as hell now. “Tecchou?” He knelt down to where Tecchou was on the ground and felt for him until his hand met the uniform.
His hands traced up Tecchou’s form and up to his face, where he pulled his hand back, and slapped the brunette in the face so hard that Tecchou was seeing stars for an entirely different reason.
“I didn’t mean ACTUALLY stop breathing you damn idiot!” Jouno said as Tecchou propped himself up on his hands. Tecchou then moved so that Jouno was sitting directly under him.
“What are you–” Tecchou laughed. A quiet sound that made roses begin to bloom across Jouno’s face. “Nothing.” Liar. Even a blind man—especially a blind man would be able to tell the position they were in right now.
Jouno scrambled off of Tecchou as he walked ahead in a hurry, absolutely determined not to let Tecchou see how much he was blushing over being straddled by his own partner.
