Work Text:

SG-7's Griffon grunted as Jack gave him a hand up. The lieutenant patted soot off his BDUs. Almost zapped by lightning was messy.

"Took you guys long enough, Colonel. What did you guys do? Stop for coffee on the way gating over here?" Griffon grumbled. He didn't notice his usual slicked back brunette head looked like someone tried to use it like a dandelion.

"You're welcome," Jack drawled. He tipped his cap back as he surveyed the grounds. He mentally counted heads. When he didn't come up short, he relaxed, his hands falling away from where they rested on top of his weapon. He considered the grassy knoll and the scorched spots around the dais. You know, the one a certain archeologist's twenty-page report warned SG-7 to approach with caution.

Griffon finally noticed his new lopsided do, but gave up trying to pat his hair back into place; his hair kept standing on end. It left him looking like one of those freaky troll things Cassie stuck on top of her pencils. Carter said they were all the rage. Jack snuck one with pink hair on one of Daniel's. Daniel complained it made him sneeze.

"Had a bit of a party, did you?" Jack remarked absently. He continued to scan their surroundings.

"Do you think the powers-that-be used that lightning bolt as a way of slapping our hands away from the artifact?" Griffon groaned. He stamped his feet in place to get the circulation going again.

"Yes," Teal'c rumbled in his usual laconic way, his expression revealing nothing. He dipped his head, excusing himself to patrol the grounds.

Griffon blinked after Teal'c, barely acknowledging the rest of SG-1 and the medical response teams as they milled around the other dazed members of his team.

"Geez," Griffon muttered. He scratched the side of his jaw. "Your Jaffa guy is a real chatterbox, huh?"

"You should see him at karaoke," Jack quipped. "The minute the song 'I Will Survive' pops up, watch out!"

Crouched by the stone pillar Daniel had repeatedly warned about, Daniel exchanged an eye roll with Sam. They bit back their smiles, their heads ducked close together as they returned to work deciphering the artifact.

...well, that was fun... XD

These are little snippets of any fandom a word can inspire. Will they later become full length? Who knows? Nevertheless, thank you for reading this.
