Summary
Shauna hadn't seen Jackie in five years. Five years since their friendship blew up, Jackie presented as an alpha, and walked straight out of Shauna's life. And that was just fine. Shauna was doing fine. Great even. She was in grad school. She had close friends. And she definitely wasn't lacking in fun, casual sex.
But here's the thing: alpha Jackie wasn't what she'd expected at all. And maybe that was a sign of personal growth, so congrats, Jackie! But it also made her much more dangerous to Shauna's sanity.

Shauna rolled her eyes, but her breath hitched when Jackie placed a hand over hers and showed her how to do it.
“You have to turn your wrist like this while you stir,” Jackie said quietly.
Jackie’s hands were soft and a bit clammy. They were so close now that she could see each of her long lashes. Jackie’s gaze met Shauna’s and then dropped down to her lips. Shauna unconsciously licked them, leaning in even closer.
