Summary
Powder’s life is going great, actually.
Sure, Vi came home with a badge and so much concern that Powder started feeling like her skin was being actively set on fire. Sure, Powder might be using more than she admits and lying worse than she thinks and just about one bad day away from collapsing in on herself and taking everything down with her.
But other than that?
Great.
Then everything falls apart with a botched delivery that leads Powder to a spiral that leads to an overdose that lands her a fast-pass to rehab (or prison, if you ask her), where she meets Ekko.
Ekko, who is NOT her friend, by the way. They just talk sometimes. And sit together more often than not. And make each other laugh often. And maybe he knows when she’s spiraling before she does sometimes, but that sounds like his problem.

Or
Rehab is supposed to help people, which would probably matter more to Powder if she still believed there was a version of herself underneath all of this worth helping in the first place. Ekko, who has been there longer than most, knows the feeling all too well.
