Summary
Aerion was nine years old the first time he saw Duncan Pennytree standing at his family's front door—tall, blue-eyed, impossibly beautiful, and completely, devastatingly older. He was also the day everything changed.
For sixteen years, Aerion has carried a secret: he's been in love with his brother's best friend since childhood. Through rejection, through growing up, through watching Duncan date others, move away, travel the world for a decade—he never stopped. Couldn't stop.
Now twenty-five, Aerion has built something resembling a stable life. A boyfriend who loves him. A career. A routine. He tells himself he's moved on.
But then Duncan comes back.
After ten years of silence, Duncan returns to the city with Daeron, and suddenly Aerion's carefully constructed world begins to crack at the seams. Old feelings resurface with brutal intensity. Unspoken words demand to be spoken. And as family dinners force them into the same room, into each other's orbits, both men must confront the question they've spent sixteen years avoiding:
What happens when the person you've always wanted finally wants you back—but only after you've promised yourself to someone else?
