Work Text:

"Those meddling kids are going to blow our cover," Eliot growled.

"We can manage it," Sophie said. "We've been in worse situations before."

She was the only one that seemed unbothered with the four college aged kids and the dog they somehow got on the cruise ship.

"I think I agree with Eliot," Harry said. "Those kids seem very determined to figure out what is making everyone believe the ship is haunted. It does appear that is their job."

They all looked at Breanna where she was typing away on her computer. Seeming to sense this, she looked up, annoyed at them.

"It's not like I knew there were going to be ghost hunters with a knack of figuring out fakes when I suggested this con," she said.

"We'll figure it out," Sophie said. "We just need to keep them distracted during the major parts."

"Or we could use them to our advantage," Harry suggested.

"What do you mean?" Eliot asked.

"Well they are going to catch us as some point," Harry said. "Why not build that into the plan?"

"Not a bad idea," Sophie said with a thoughtful look.

"As long as the talking dog isn't near me," Parker said. "I don't like it."

"He doesn't talk," Breanna said.

"It does," Parker said. "I heard it."

Eliot sighed. That was not an argument he was getting into. Not when there was something off about that dog.

They did work the kids into their plan, purposefully getting caught by them to catch their mark. People accepted a team of con artists behind the haunting of the cruise ship better than expected. Plus the kids were cool with them once they understood.

"Are you sure they're going to be okay?" Fred asked.

Eliot looked at Parker and Scooby's stare down.

"Probably."
