"I've always wondered what it feels like to touch a cloud," Jimmy said.
They were on the roof of Lois's apartment building when he said it, just watching the sky. It was a partly cloudy day, with enough sun to make it feel bright. And for once there were no pressing deadlines or Superman level threats to ruin the day. Which meant the three of them could spend some real time together.
"Mostly just cold and wet," Clark said.
Jimmy glared at him where he sat.
"Oh yeah rub it in," Jimmy said.
"Yeah, Clark," Lois added. "There's no need to be so rude about the fact you can fly."
Clark would have been confused on how he had upset them, but it was clear from the looks on both their faces they were joking with him. They often did when he casually mentioned something he could do or had done that normal people couldn't.
"All you have to do is ask and I would take you up to feel them," he replied. "But I do mean it, they are cold and wet. Like fog."
"But to be able to fly and feel them for myself?" Jimmy said. "I would have given anything to do that. I don't care if they are just cold and wet."
Clark smiled at the dreamy look on his face.
"Would you really take us just if we asked?" Lois asked.
"Of course. I would love to get to share that with you," he said. "It is kind of magical getting to go up there and see everything."
"Maybe another day," Jimmy said. "Today I am getting to sit and enjoy the peace of the day with my two favorite people."
"Another day," Clark promised.
He reached to grab and hold onto both their hands.
