The Isla Sorna Caper

Summary:

Team Red finds themselves on an island within the Las Cinco Muertes archipelago, after being given intel of V.I.L.E activity happening within an island, closed off by the Costa Rican government due to conservation efforts. Knowing this, Team Red is under the assumption that V.I.L.E must be on the island to destroy its natural biosphere, but as it turns out, that won't be the case.

Team Red soon find out after avoiding countless dangers that Dr. Bellum had been using the island as a backup plan to her recent attempt at creating a dinosaur, only this time, she succeeds. And it is here on the island of Isla Sorna that she keeps all of her genetically modified dinosaurs, and plans to weaponize them for the sake of V.I.L.E. Carmen and the gang must secure the data Dr. Bellum keeps in a hidden lab within the island, and the unborn dinosaur embryos, so that she may never create another dinosaur again, nor would these creatures be exploited into profit for V.I.L.E.

On the other side of the island, Agents Chase, Julia, and Zari must also brave the dangers of the island, and find a way off the island.

Chapter 1: SITE B

Chapter Text

The boat had docked east of the island's center. Faculty by now was roughly 207 miles west off Costa Rica’s coast, situated within a remote archipelago. There was the argument of having their journey from V.I.L.E to the Island be by air, but Dr. Bellum had insisted they go by boat from Costa Rica’s harbours instead on account of “staying clear from prying eyes”. The doctor had been rambling on about a certain project of hers on this Island she spent months getting clearance for to pursue her rough ideas. Now, the stage was finally set. All she had to do was woo the fellow Faculty of her revolutionary breakthroughs.

Dr. Bellum lent the coordinates of her project to Coach Brunt, letting the much stronger and athletically inclined woman take the lead, clearing away the brush and foliage. The other faculty had noticed there were already V.I.L.E workers on the island, without their prior knowledge; from the docks to now the hidden Boathouse complex they trudged through the jungle to get to. They all hopped on the rickety boat, with Coach Brunt as the captain, and set sail north-west along the river.

Countess Cleo stood near the stern of the boat, looking off into the trees that surrounded the river, before she had slipped, grabbing the side, before steading herself. The turbulence caused by a simple rock in the waters.

“Careful Countess.” Bellum looked up from her tablet, smirking at the much taller woman.

“This island is filthy.” Cleo shuddered. “You couldn’t have picked a much nicer one? Preferably with a resort? Maybe then we wouldn’t have to travel on such a…cheap floating piece of wood.”

“I assure you, Countess, it is important that I make sure our activity on this island stays as discreet as possible. Especially from a certain crimson ghost, even if that means sacrificing your dignity.”

“This better be good Dr. Bellum.” Coach Brunt added as she steered the boat towards the patch of land Dr. Bellum had instructed her to park, before they all stepped off, and made their way towards the opening of grassland. “You know how much I hate having my time wasted.”

“I promise, your time will not be wasted!” Dr. Bellum giggled as she followed behind Coach Brunt.

Professor Maelstrome made his way beside the Doctor. “Will all due respect, Dr. Bellum. As much as we admire your work, your experiments thus far have been anything but successful.” He cocked a brow at her.

“Does no one trust me??”

They cut around a mountain, following a path within the grasslands into a building complex. The complex had everything. There were watchtowers north of the main building, massive trucks, that looked to be for importing and exporting. The Doctor led them inside, into a laboratory, before she pivoted to the front of the group.

“So far, I will admit, my work as of late has been…quite defective. But, this project of mine, one that I have spent hours and hours of my time brewing and perfecting, I assure you, my fellow faculty, will bring us back to the top of the food chain. Not even the illusive Carmen Sandiego could bring us down.”

Bellum opened the doors, letting her fellow faculty members, who were now intrigued by her speech, gingerly take their steps into the lab. Professor Maelstrome stopped at an incubation crate, full of what seemed to be large bird eggs. Cleo pressed her hands against the window that peered into a greenhouse, full of plants that she had never seen before. Coach Brunt entered a nursery that was connected to a paddock, eyeing an observation that was attached to a second floor.

“Saira, what is all of this?” Cleo muttered under her breath, but loud enough for Dr. Bellum to hear.

The other faculty turned to face her, as she stood in front of a set of incubation pods, letting everyone else stare in awe, seeing what looked to be baby dinosaurs inside of the pods.

“Ladies and gentleman, I give you…” She pivoted towards her largest pod, one that had held a dinosaur, with a long, slightly parted snout, with conical teeth that stuck out from the sides of its lips, and a large sail on its back.

“Site B.”
