Her voice breaks on the last line as she forces herself to choke back the sob caught in her throat.
“ Robin stop”
Robin stills, her entire body trembling. All the color drains from her face.
“ Oh sweetheart.” Joyce lets out a breath
Robin chances a glance up at her, utterly confused by the response.
“ Honey,… I’m not mad at you. And god- I’m certainly not going to hit you…” Joyce trails off.
“Is somebody hitting you?”
