Summary:

It is Enid's birthday so Wednesday gets her some gifts.

Notes:

I wrote most of this on the train when I left my partner at the airport so I hope you enjoy this fanfic :)

Work Text:

It was Enid’s birthday in 2 weeks, and Wednesday was panicking. Sure, she didn’t care for people, but it did depend on who. Her family, definitely, yes, but Enid was involved now. After she had sacrificed her humanity for her and saved her, they had gotten closer. In return, Wednesday helped give her her humanity again. They worked out more than they should’ve, but the goth was happy about that.

Glancing towards Enid’s side of the room, an idea flooded into the raven’s mind, and she immediately started to walk towards the side of the room. Enid was busy today with the Nightshades after being invited to join the secret society. Both Wednesday and Enid were, but Wednesday didn’t want to join, no. She wanted to be alone, but she knew she could rely on them for allies. Looking at the corkboard, she noticed some hockey tickets. They were from a long time ago, about when Enid was 10 years old. They were for San Jose, and that lit up an idea in the brunette’s mind. She would buy her beloved werewolf some hockey tickets, 2 to be exact, and also some concert tickets from one of her favourite bands, one of the K-pop ones.

Decidingly, she went towards the pink laptop. Grimacing as she had to touch the pink to open the computer, she put in the password. Enid had given her permission to use it whenever she needed, but to always clear her search history. She did not need to know what her sadistic roommate had been searching for. Going on Google, she first searched for San Jose tickets. Going on the official site, she started to look at what was available for Christmas break. This was an excuse to bring Enid to her home; she wouldn’t have to ask. Finding some New Jersey Devils vs San Jose Sharks at home, she smirked and immediately looked at Thing. “Get me my card,” she instructed. Doing his version of a nod, he immediately got up and went towards the desk.

Her leather wallet was brought over as she was entering her own email. Enid had gotten her more online and even got her an email so she could send her manuscript to different people who could publish her book, but it didn't work out much. She kept getting denied. Putting in her payment information, she nodded, humming to herself. Perfect, now Enid would be able to stay with her for Christmas, and she wouldn’t go back to her judgmental mother. It was a perfect plan. Next, the seer searched for Blackpink, checking their tickets. Fate was on her side, it seemed. There were some dates in New Jersey for them over the Winter break. She quickly booked some standing tickets. She decided she would also buy some jerseys from the Sharks for Enid that would fit. Looking at photos of the players, she thought Eklund suited her best. Fulfilled, Wednesday ordered the jersey. Satisfied, Wednesday cleared her search history and turned the computer off. Going back to her side of the room, she starred the emails with the tickets. She could print them off soon.

For now, she had to wait for Enid’s birthday.

It was Enid’s birthday, and thankfully it was on Saturday. Enid, of course, slept in. Wednesday was up early, and she had gotten breakfast for the 2 of them. The raven went up with their food, setting it down before she started to write at her typewriter. On the other side of her typewriter, there were the tickets in 2 separate envelopes, and the jersey was in some black wrapping paper. The nametag was golden. At around 10, Enid grunted, stretching as she started to get up. “Morning, Wends,” the wolf smiled, eyes widening at the sight of breakfast.

“Good morning, good sleep in?” the goth hummed, ending her sentence before she turned around and grabbed the plates. She passed over the werewolves before she sat down on Enid’s chair, eating there.

“Yes, it was a good sleep in. Thank you,” the wolf hummed, taking a bite. “Thanks for breakfast in bed!” she groaned in delight, before inhaling some more.

“It is no problem,” Wednesday stated, eating her own food as she was thinking.

After a few minutes, both girls were finished. Enid noticed the envelopes on her desk. “So did you write me a birthday card? I didn’t think you would,” Enid teased the goth.

“No, it is something better,” the raven answered simply, starting to grasp at them and hand them over. Confused, the werewolf nodded and took them.

“So can I open them now?” the wolf asked, confused a little.

“Yes, you may,” the brunette answered, hoping that Enid would love the tickets to Blackpink and the hockey game. Opening the letters carefully, Enid immediately pulled out the hockey tickets.
“Oh, my god. You bought tickets… for me?” Enid asked, tears in her eyes.

“Yes,” the seer answered plainly, looking at the blonde intensely. The blonde could see both nervousness and softness in them. “Open the other envelope before you thank me with a hug,” she added, seeing the werewolf’s leg start to move. Nodding, Enid immediately opened the second letter. The scream of excitement that came out would definitely cause a noise complaint.

At the end of the scream, the alpha lunged towards the raven, and Wednesday immediately collapsed on the floor, holding her. “Thank you!” Enid spoke, tears leaking from her eyes a bit. Quickly looking at her face, Wednesday deduced it was from happiness.

“You deserve it,” Wednesday stated a fact, before she pushed the blonde away, who scrambled away. “I have one more thing,” she added, getting up and going to her desk as she grabbed the package.

Carefully opening it, taking note of the golden name tag (which made her subconsciously smile), she looked at the jersey, and her eyes widened. “I have a Devils jersey at home, but I do know you like the Sharks, so I thought you would want that,” Wednesday explained.

“I could kiss you,” was all Enid responded with, trying to make it seem like a reaction. In reality, she did actually have a crush on her, and she hoped that Wednesday did like her back. The goth was softer with her, more vulnerable and always helped her.

“Why aren’t you then?” the raven asked, her eyebrows raised. “I know you have had a crush on me for a while, so I know it isn’t a joke,” she added.

With that, Enid launched towards the psychic, grabbing her waist gently as she kissed her softly. Kissing back, Wednesday couldn’t stop the smile.

She couldn’t wait to take her to the concert (even if she would hate it) and the game. She now understood her parents’ love.
