“We’ve got a new prize for you,” croons the voice of the moderator, who doesn’t do much besides egg on the fights. “Think you can give us a second showing, wolf?”
Eddie huffs, and meets the challenging gaze with a steely look. Another opponent—he’s still buzzing with energy. Every hit he took only served to wind him up. “Give it to me.”
The moderator motions, and the crowd, roiling and hungry, parts. Two men walk behind a third, who prances like he’s not among dangerous people, and Eddie’s heart drops to his feet.
