Make It Home

Summary:

When she was a baby, somehow, the gods decided they wanted Y/N to grow up on a boat with the king of Ithaca. Then people started dying. Things just got worse from there. Officially 21, and officially traumatized.
Telemachus was sure his dad was still alive, somewhere out there. Until he came back, though, Telemachus himself would have to deal with the suitors.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

They had set off for Troy just yesterday. A day of sailing and they weren't even halfway there.

Odysseus sighs, leaning against the railing of the deck and looking longingly in the direction of Ithaca. He already wanted to just go home and see his wife and kid again.

"Captain…" Odysseus turns to see Eurylochus holding something in his arms with a look of pure shock. "Look." He slowly unwrapps the thing, and reveals a small baby. They stare at Odysseus with their big E/C eyes before beginning to cry.

"A child?" Odysseus asks himself, taking the baby and rocking them back and forth in his arms.

"Yes, sir. We don't how she got on board-"

"She?" He looks down at the little girl, eyes softening at the sight of her looking back at him as she had finally quieted down. Her fingers wrap tightly around his.

Eurylochus sighs. "Yes. It's a girl. And we need to get her off the ship."

"Why?" For some reason, Odysseus's heart just breaks at the thought of leaving her.

Eurylochus's brow furrows. "Captain, we're going to war."

"Yeah, and we can just take her with us!" Odysseus replies happily, cooing at the small child. Eurylochus stares at him in disbelief. What was going on in his captain's head?

"Sir, we have to leave her at an island nearby. She'll be better cared for." Eurylochus argues, slamming a fist on the table.

Odysseus, Eurylochus, and Polites were supposed to be having a meeting about this. However, it was really just Odysseus and Eurylochus yelling while Polites held the baby.

Odysseus groans, frustrated and torn. On one hand, he wanted to keep the child and felt an attachment to her, but on the other hand, Euryhlochus was right. The girl would be safer at an island.

Polites spoke up through the silence. "I wanna keep her." He says simply, gazing at the baby with soft-hearted eyes.

Eurylochus, shocked, immediately goes to argue but Odysseus shushes him. With a smug look, Odysseus glances at Eurylochus. "Two against one. Looks like we're keeping her."
