— What did you just say? — The vampire was almost sure he could hear his heartbeats coming back to life after nearly sixteen centuries where silence was all he could expect from his own heart. He was shocked.
Spelldon, the witch he was talking with, looked back at him. He evidently wasn't aware of his boyfriend's reaction— I'll have to leave to the study howl soon, turns out I have home-ick due tommorrow— He explained patiently.
— Not that! I...— Valentine tried to make himself clear, but he was barely able to even form a coherent thought before awkwardness erased it all from his mind — Forget it darlin', you seem kind of tired. I better not retain you any longer. That way, you can go home earlier today. —
As soon as he tried to the distance between them, the witch grabbed him tightly by the waist — Good thing I have time —
— You literally just said you have to leave! — Spelldon couldn't help but smirk to him. He really needed to discover what he did to make his boyfriend's face blend with the burgundy streaks of his hair.
— I guess something just came up — Valentine's eyes wandering everywhere, but on the witch's face was proof of it. How was Spell supposed to ignore the way the other was acting and just leave him there, all alone, probably dying with whatever was going on inside his head right now?
The vampire tried to whine. However, he was successfully shutted up by a green hand that gently leaned up his face to force his eyes to meet with the taller's — Did something happen? — The voice emanated a subtle tone of preoccupation.
— What?! No! — His hands were resting above the other's chest. — Everything is alright, Spell. I swear — The vampire, unconsciously, also hid his face there. — It's just... you just called me a way no one has done in a while, that's all —
They stayed in complete silence for about one or two minutes. Spelldon's hand now caressing his boyfriend's dark hair.
A sigh was followed up by what was bugging the witch's mind, could it be? — ...Kieran?—
The vampire looked up at him, pink once again meeting the deep violet of his eyes. Spelldon could swear he saw Valentine's pupils slighly morph into tiny hearts by the mere mention of his name — You said it so casually — He broke a part, just enough for both of them to be comfortable as they continued to speak — No other than my mom have cared enough to stop and learn how to pronounce it correctly, yet you just did it flawlessly —
They smiled at each other — You sure are a dramatic one, uh? —
— You love it — The vampire replied under a warm laugh
— Mmh... you are right — Another little, silent interlude took its turn. All that Valentine could hear were the accelerated heartbeats and breaths of the witch, whose attention was all him — Hey, Val...— He continued as the other replied with a noise — Did you liked it? —
A couple of pink, floating hearts came to life, and their oblivious father leaned up a bit to be able to hug the taller by his neck — Quite a lot, yeah —
On the search for proximity, Spelldon grabbed him by the waist — That's good... — He paused just to be able to softly caress Valentine's blushing face — because I think your name is beautiful, Kieran —
— Said it again — He breathlessly commanded while, out of habit, encircling his arms around the taller's neck once again. He felt so warm, so alive.
None of them even realized they were walking until Valentine's back hit the catacombs' wall. The vampire whined at the sudden sensation, those cold bricks really made him remember where they actually were.
He was about to break out when Spelldon tighten his grab, holding his weight were his boyfriend just bumped with. Needless to say that Valentine froze on his place, even forgetting how to breath for a solid second, not that he actually needed to remember anyways.
— Kieran — Suddenly, the witch's voice was deeper, though gentle as always.
— Yeah? — The vampire looked up just to meet those goregeous, amethyst, eyes.
— Kieran — He repeated over an over again, every time followed by murmurs asking for more.
— Kieran, you are so beautiful — Spelldon said while kissing one of his vampire's hands — You are the most important monster on my life, Kieran — he carefully kissed his neck — I love you so much Kieran — the witch finished his sentence milimeters apart from him
Valentine loved to hear the accelerated heartbeats of his boyfriend going wild as they kissed.
