Chapter Text

It had been quite some time since Two Time had been forsakened. How and why they were sent to this realm still remained unclear in their own mind, surely it must be a test from Spawn! But if it was Spawns doing, then why did it have to hurt so much?
They knew they had someone, a partner, before entering this realm. But their name, their face, everything about them was forgotten. And no matter how hard Two Time tried to remember them, they couldn’t. All they knew was that they were oh so kind. And that they lost their life as part of a sacrifice to Spawn.

They were often labelled as ‘crazy’ or ‘insane’ by the other survivors of this hell, never making a direct attempt to communicate with them outside of these devilish rounds. At first, Two Time preached about their religion to the others, but they—especially the Divine Pumpkin—made it clear they weren’t interested in such teachings.
And yet, despite how odd Two Time acted, Elliot was always kind to them. Healing the cultist during rounds and including them in group activities.

It made Two Time feel wanted. Safe. At peace.
Perhaps Elliot was a gift from the Spawn, a being made out of the pure kindness and generosity that is the Spawn. Yes, that could be the only possible explanation as to why Elliot was so perfect in Two Time’s eyes.

Why he acted so much like him.

Two Time was snapped out of their thoughts as the round began, the name ‘John Doe’ flashing across their vision. It must have been the Spawns way of warning them of danger. Yes, that must be it.
Two Time giggled to themselves and muttered a small prayer to the Spawns before stabbing the ground repeatedly with their dagger to place their ritual.

They looked at the list of survivors in the round.

And Themself

Praise be the Spawn for a useful lineup.

Two Time made their way through the map, which was C00l Carnival. How odd it was to them, that there was a map with one of the killer's faces plastered all over the place, including a cardboard cutout of a fellow survivor. Two Time let out a hum as they spotted 007n7 and Guest doing a gen, deciding to join them in the task.

They never really understood how the generator’s worked, due to there being no technology within the church, nor did they understand why it affected the length of the round. All they knew was that they had to connect the colours, which they found simple enough.

The generator whirred to life as the three survivors finished the task, Guest immediately running off to find the killer.

“I wish I was able to help the others, like you can Two Time.” 007n7 said, standing up from his crouched position on the ground. “All I can do is help myself.” He scratched the back of his head shamefully. It was no lie that the others didn’t trust 007n7, due to him previously being an infamous exploiter. A term Two Time was not acquainted with before their arrival to this realm.

“The Spawn believes preserving one’s own vessel is quite honorable.” Two Time replied, smiling maniacally, to which 007n7 could only respond with a nod and a forced chuckle before looking away.

Two Time’s smile faltered slightly before fixing itself, though now being more strained. They looked off towards the distance, hearing a scream, and deciding to head in that direction—leaving 007n7 behind.

As they neared the source of the sound, Two Time noticed that Noob was being chased by John Doe, a quick glance at the list of survivors in the round, and Two Time could see that they were low. With another manic grin, Two Time snuck up behind John Doe, crouching before lunging at the killer.

Their dagger embedded itself into the corrupted flesh, John Doe let out a garbled noise of pain as he was stunned—filling up Two Time’s obligation bar. Noob gave Two Time a quick nod of thanks before running in the direction of Builderman’s dispenser.
How useful it was for Builderman to make these strange contraptions.

Before Two Time could react, John Doe slammed them into the wall and let out a distorted sound that made them flinch. Since their dagger was on cooldown, they had to opt to run away—‘such a cowardly move’ they thought to themselves, luckily managing to dodge the spikes that embedded themselves in the ground.

They kept running, due to both John’s lack of speed and the fact the spikes hid Two Time’s movements, they were able to lose the killer quite easily. Turning a corner, Two Time ran face first into a red-clothed chest and was knocked to the ground, tail flicking in annoyance.

“Oh- Two Time, are you alright?!”

Two Time, feeling a warm hand brush their cheek, opened their eyes and blushed at the sight. In front of them crouched Elliot, who was looking at them with concern etched into the gaze. “You’re hurt… here, just stay with me until my pizza’s off cooldown.”

At Elliot’s words, Two Time finally noticed that sticky warmth that soaked through their robes. Looking down, they noticed a huge tear in the fabric—blood darkening the blue-ish colour. Despite the pain, they still managed a smile, looking up at the healer with wide eyes.

“Save your heals for those who truly need it, dear Elliot. I am fine.” They took his hand that was previously on resting on their cheek in their hands, squeezing tightly to reassure him.

“But–”

“No buts—I have the Spawn looking out for me, as do you.”

Elliot let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding, he understood that when Two Time was preaching about the Spawn, there was no convincing them otherwise. He looked at the timer—1 minute—and sighed, squeezing the cultists hand in response.

“Fine,” he muttered, voice unsteady. “But you’re staying beside me for the rest of the round.” He mumbled the last part, barely audible. But Two Time heard. They always heard.

Two Time nodded, probably more eager than they should’ve had, still wearing that manic smile. “If that’s what you so wish, dear healer, then I have no reason not to oblige!”

And so, the cultist followed the pizza boy around the map, making sure to stun the killer when he came near, until the round ended.
As each survivor spawned back in the lobby, they each began splitting up or beginning cheerful conversations with one another to lighten the mood. Elliot, bless his soul, flashed Two Time a quick smile before heading off to the kitchen with Guest to cook dinner for the others.

Two Time, instead of following the other survivors to the couch or the various games around the main cabin, instead snuck outside and into one of the other smaller, wooden cabins outside. They shut the door behind them, tail giving a little flick as they looked at all the Spawn carvings they had carved into the walls with their dagger. Two Time pushed themselves into a small ball on the bed, letting out happy giggles as they thought of how close they and Elliot had been that round.

“Surely,” they thought. “I won’t have to give them up too.”
