He curses himself for not having paid closer attention when they first got to South 16. If he had, he would have seen the patient sit up straighter in recognition on the hospital bed, nervously looking out the glass door like he was already trying to find a different doctor to treat him. If Langdon had realized this, he could have grabbed Mel by the elbow and gotten her out of the room before she set her eyes on him.
