Wemmbu’s a bitch. That may come off harsh, but she learned to close her heart after having things stripped away from her that she deserved to keep.
Constantly people tried taking her only constant away. That constant being EggChan, the only person who’s been able to survive being around Wemmbu.
The people back at the tournament before the Law ordeal would have called Wemmbu crazy and ill mannered, but if they knew the shit she had gone through before that point maybe they would have understood.
Now hell would rain on everyone. She might be a bitch and impatient, but she sure wasn’t cruel. The night was darker, the stars refused to shine after EggChan was originally kidnapped. She had chased every single lead to find her friend, her only reason to live.
Staring at the spider hybrid, Arachn1d, across from her, she could feel all the anger boil over the top. That insultant disgrace to spider hybrids had bought her best friend from that stupid invisible freak. Wemmbu knew if she stepped closer or did anything wrong, Arachn1d would have Egg’s head. Yungy, a skilled fighter, stood next to the spider hybrid watching her with an intense expression. She could tell what they were going to do with her. The human spoke up first.
“So Wemmbu, how does it feel to be the one at the disadvantage?” A tease, a fucking tease. Only if she didn’t have to keep her cool for Egg’s sake. She could see Egg in her periphery saying the prayer of the stars and doing an action that meant he would be alright.
“Like shit, Yungy, but I guess you would know how that feels every single fucking day.” He smiled and stepped closer.
“You’re working for us now. Behave or EggChan’s life will end in a snap.” Wemmbu pulled her mask and covered her face. She just didn’t want to look the bastard in the eyes. Not that her eyes gave anything away like Flame’s eyes. Her eyes were just as beady as her heart. Obsessive and desperate.
“Turning me into a weapon. Not a bad choice on your part, but how long until someone does something? I might be hated by many on this server, but I have allies even if you don’t think so. How long will you keep me like this?” Arachn1d moved up and his spider appendages extended to poke and prod at Wemmbu’s appendages, but he hadn’t realised how battle scarred she was. Her appendages were all tucked for battle and wouldn’t untuck no matter how much prodding the male spider hybrid tried. She sneered at him.
“Can’t get them out? Darling, try being a guard for an emperor. You’ll learn how abusive that role gets.” She was keeping her fangs from showing. Yungy slapped her arm.
“Behave.” She pulled back. The action of being hit wasn’t why, but the fact they were resorting to violence already. A chuckle came from her. Maybe this shitty situation would play in her favor. May the stars be on her side, they already are.
Currently it was day four of being in this cell, Wemmbu was allowed to leave to train with Yungy, repair her armor, shower, and eat. Anytime she spars with Yungy, she makes sure to keep the human on his guard since everyone found out the hard way that Wemmbu’s venom can kill someone if she injected it into someone. The way she had giggled after the cavern guard attempted to take her own, only to be the example of why FlameFrags never went feral with her. Both fighters never used their hybrid natures against each other. Flame could have easily killed the spider using his fire powers from being a nether-born; Wemmbu could have killed the nether-born by injecting the smallest amount of venom into his bloodstream.
It was day six when Wemmbu refused to eat. Arachn1d didn’t have a plan for a hunger strike. He needed her alive for his plan to work, so talking with Yungy and a few other guards they came up with a simple plan. They were going to let Wemmbu share a cell with EggChan, but the security would be amped up to watch both the angel and spider.
Banging on Wemmbu’s cell bars, Arachn1d waited for the spider hybrid to look at him before speaking.
“Get up, you’re moving cells.” She got up without hesitation. With how often she gets called stupid and impulsive, people often forget that she still is very much intelligent in her own way. Street smarts and math are those intelligent points of hers.
Once they were at the new cell, the guard opened it up for Wemmbu to enter it. She walked in and saw Egg, Wemmbu hugged the angel. Egg hugged her back feeling her emotions roll in intense waves as he could feel everything she was feeling just by touching her. He calmed her down.
They spent the next few days in that cell together. Wemmbu was still going to train and spar, but the guards were more wary of her now since she was allowed near Egg again. She ate her meals with Egg. That is when the guards realised how human Wemmbu truly was, she just wanted her friend. There were moments where she was the child of stars, but in these moments she was simply a human doing her best to keep her friend with her. To keep her friend from harm.
Desperation was the enemy’s fear. A desperate soul had no morals. A lost soul had no mercy. There were so many reasons why Arachn1d wanted EggChan before attempting to get Wemmbu. The first reason is that the spider hybrid would do anything to keep Egg safe and sound even if that means giving in her maces. He didn’t let the fact she was about to offer her mace away for Egg’s life.
The Cavern King kicked the angel and spider’s cell.
“Get up, Wemmbu. You have a mission to run for us.” She mumbled tiredly. It was her cycle and everything hurt. Egg redid her hair for Wemmbu since she got easily annoyed with everything during her period.
“I fucking hate you.” Picking up her maces that were sitting against the wall, she walked out to gear herself for the mission.
As she geared herself, a familiar presence walked into the room, it was Yungy. He looked smug as ever.
“Something wrong, bug?” Oh how she wanted to claw his eyes out while injecting paralysis venom into him. Something about her is that she’s a mix between a jumping spider and Brazilian wandering spider. Not only does her venom paralyze her victim, it also induces pain like no other.
“What’s the mission about?” She decided to keep her violence to herself for now.
“Simple raid on Highwater City.” That name seems familiar to Wemmbu. Is that fishing community Egg used to go to?
“Does it have fishing ports?” Yungy just shrugs casually.
“Don’t know and doesn’t concern me. Just prepare yourself, princess, and try not to look so miserable.” She parroted what he said in a mocking voice. He glared back at her. Oh they were going to have so many problems.
As Wemmbu arrived at Highwater City, she landed on a roof watching two armies go at it. Parrot’s army and a fire themed one? Whatever, her job was to take out Parrot’s army. Taking a deep breath, she pulled a collection of small stars down from the sky. Humans and other moral creatures saw this as explosives while immortals and inorganic hybrids saw it as literal stars. The spider jumped down from the roof killing an innocent little chungie. Bleh that word didn’t sit right with her anymore.
She saw Parrot’s expression, betrayal and shock. Little did he know the shit she had gone through. Ruling an empire sucked, she knew it from experience. Power had a funny little way of getting to people’s heads. Zam and Egg gave her enough experience with it. Although she would take Parrot over them any day. Using a wind charge and firework, she flew back into the air just to mace another soul. She sighed and pulled a collection of star fragments. It wasn’t going to do much, but she can’t keep pulling stars down. It would look the part enough for Arachn1d to think she was doing her part.
Taking another breath she continued to erase Parrot’s army from the area. Once there weren’t any more soldiers in the area, she picked a flower from one of the nuked areas and placed it on the water saying a quick prayer to the stars to thank them. A cold feeling sat in her soul, it was as cold as the space she was born from. She couldn’t help but let a dark chuckle out. Even the stars didn’t see the point of this. They don’t know why she fought so hard to keep this one specific person alive.
Turning around, she saw Flame standing there confused on why she was there, but gestured for her to follow him. Wemmbu did follow the nether-born and saw there was a meeting occurring between the leader of the other army Parrot was originally fighting and Arachn1d. The other leader ruled over a civilization of old players, his name was Saparata while the civilization’s name was CinderCrest. Pointless, politics weren’t important to the stars and so then weren’t important to her. Using a wind charge, she flew up to a roof and watched the meeting happen.
When would the air be clean again? Could peace become tangible in her life again? Would Egg ever be able to stop being used as her weakness? Where is her destiny headed?
Looking up at the sky, she said another prayer. This time a prayer for EggChan, FlameFrags, JadenMan, Linnwyrm, and Lomedy. She said the last part of the prayer with a begrudging nature as how come Lomedy got to be happy while EggChan was constantly put through the ringer.
May the stars answer her prayers. This time her luck is running thin. Her time hasn’t come yet. There is still so much stellar energy burning in her body. It wasn’t time for another cycle. This cycle would be the reason she continues the other cycles.
